1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: OWS Round 113 & 114 Gallery & Discussion (April 2015) on: May 12, 2015 12:20:24 PM
Sorry, not the best of pictures, but a really lovely t-shirt! I got two of these from edelC for my two kids. They will love wearing matching outfits. I asked my two year old what it was and he recognized "letters" and then started "walking" on top of the octopi with his fingers, illustrating that you will fall off when you get to the end of the bridge.  Smiley

I claim Averia for a surprise from her pinterest board.

2 claims, 0 sent, 0 received

2/0/0

I live in Sweden with my SO and our two kids (one 7 year old and one 2 year old Smiley) I work at a university as a study counsellor, but this semester I have some time off to write my master's thesis. It's in the field of education, about attitudes towards truancy among teachers and pupils. I am thinking about getting a PhD somtime in the future. My SO is a PhD student of psychology.

When it comes to crafting I like to try pretty much all sorts of crafting, everything from crocheting to building sleeping lofts. Unfortunately I havent had much time for it for the last few years, but I hope to get back into crafting (and swapping at craftster) again now. Unfortunately (again) I had to give up my craft room to make a room for the kids. Yes, its worth it, but where am I to put my 5 sewing machines? Just asking! Smiley We are still looking for a bigger flat.

Anyway, thank you for having me in the swap, and here is my list (will add more shortly)...

Red means most wanted wishes!

Crafted things

General remark: If you would like to make me kids stuff (me, Mika and little Torild would love you for it Smiley), were not that into gender stereotyping, which basically means that both kids can still wear anything (little brother loves his dresses). If crafting for them, maybe just make sure to think of them as children and not either princesses or princes. Smiley

Matching clothes for Mika and Torild
Mika is very fond and proud of her baby brother, and she would love matching outfits to wear. Preferably something not too dressy (more of the fun and practical sort). Just got lovely t-shirts! Would prefer long sleeves now if sending tops. Some themes they like: Moomin, dr Who (preferably cute stuff, like Adipose or something "cutified" like this: http://img3.etsystatic.com/005/0/6903707/il_570xN.406072575_h0hd.jpg), buses, bicycles, orchids, lego...

Fabric painted shoes for either of the kids
Would love that! Themes maybe same as above or something else creative. They love color! Sizes EU 25 or 33 (see converter here: http://www.shoesize.com/kids/converter/).

Funky baby clothes
Fun, funky (or maybe liberal, feminist, sarcastic, scientific/geeky and/or LGBT...) kids clothes fitting a two year old or seven year old. We're not into gender stereotyping, so any colours are o.k. Something knitted would be really cool! but anything goes: appliques, fabric painted, crocheted...

Toddler clothes (for 2 year old) with the transgender symbol
See this: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:A_TransGender-Symbol_Plain3.svg Not that I am saying that my baby is transgender (or that it isnt), rather just that it is really gender indifferent. He couldnt care less. Feel free to make something fun out of the symbol. You can get inspiration by searching for images on google with words like trans symbol.

Large tea mugs
XXXL! I am thinking 1 litre (or 2 pints or whatever your unit of preference is Smiley).

Bath oil
Relaxing bath oil, natural.

Something knitted with squirrels on
...for me or for Mika or Torild. Love this one: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=354185.0

Cable knit womans cardigan
I know its to big of a wish, but one can wish, right? Smiley Preferably wool. I like this look: http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/cardigan-sweater-full-tilt-womens-chunky-cable-knit-hooded-cardigan-grey

Work of art in a technique youre really good at
I like abstract art with a lot of contrast. I prefer larger works of art. Need something to cover a piece of my wall. Love these (just as a couple of examples):
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=221922.0
http://www.etsy.com/listing/108344671/original-fine-art-mixed-media-painting
The bigger and bolder the better!

I love this ring!
http://www.etsy.com/listing/35527786/kawaii-cute-japanese-floating-ring-tea or something like it. That illusion effect of it floating in the air is awesome!

Typography artwork

Jelly roll
I would love to see what I could make of it. I don't think they are as easy to get here and I am curious about them.

Something Pi related for Mika (her name is Mika Pi)
maybe something using an embroidery hoop or clothes or just anything.

Upcycled dress/top for me
I am about a size S/M and 5 feet 7" (170 cm). Don't like too short tops)
Some ideas I like are on these pinterest boards. If you plan to make something else than dress/top from there, please ask first, because there is a great mix of things there that I want or are planning to make or just put there for some other reason. Will organize stuff better there soon:

Supplies

Alphabet cake pan Top wish!
Would love love love a pan like this (in this size):
http://tinyurl.com/bzuwr5g

Label holders
Nice looking metal label holders to put on cardboard boxes (around 1 x 2). Preferably complete with some sort of fastening device (brads, screws or whatever will work with the kind you send). Some examples:
http://apps.webcreate.com/ecom/catalog/product_specific.cfm?ClientID=15&ProductID=18394

Factory girl fabric
http://www.etsy.com/listing/8305099/alexander-henry-factory-girl-fabric

1/8 cup spoon
I don't know how common these are, but here in Sweden I certainly haven't seen any. I would like a spoon that measures 30 ml / 2 tbsp / 1/8 cup (which should be the same amount if I am not mistaken).

Cupcake maker
http://tinyurl.com/bbq57zt
Would have to have a standard European or British plug

Craft kit for 2 year old
Maybe something like this:
http://www.hamabeads.com/maxi_beads.htm
or anything that he could actually take part in and craft with

Resin kit! (never tried before)

Screen printing kit! (with a frame or supplies to make one, and instructions, never tried before)

A kit for any kind of fun craft I haven't tried yet. Feel free to PM me about that.

a good hole puncher
Something to punch holes in anything from plastic to leather, preferably with different sizes and really good quality. I used to have one that could barely make holes, and you had to trim the holes afterwords with scissors.

Colorful fabric that is somewhat water resistant
to dress kitchen chairs

Supplies for my Silhouette Cameo
Things I can use with the Silhouette Cameo that I just bought. Blade, materials, kits... I want to try everything! Some ideas here: http://www.bestblanks.com/silhouette.html

Vinyl for making stencils

Cotton fabric with "frames" on
I am looking for fabric that consists of "frames" of some sort with a white inside. Ideal would be images of empty photo frames (if anyone has seen such a fabric, PLEASE tell me where). I love the pattern on this wallpaper: http://www.designonline.se/Products/sek1/Accessories/Wallpapers/8100/Familjen+tapet Otherwise maybe just white squares with a border of some other colour around it. I would like to use it to iron-on images in the white sqare and get the effect that the image is framed.

Badges for covering
Badges that I can cover with fabric.

Craft books & magazines

Book with fun/cute Japanese sewing and/or crochet patterns (when it comes to books it might be a good idea to ask if I already have the book before claiming).

Crochet books or magazines with fun new projects (not too traditional stuff). I like "Crochet today". Please ask me before you send a crochet book, since I have a few (not many) already and might have the one you want to send. (Will try to list the ones I already have soon.)

MAKE: technology on your time (The only one I already have is volume Cool

CRAFT: transforming traditional crafts. Will list which ones I have.

Craft books/magazines in general with fun new projects (not too traditional stuff) (in English or German or with easy-to-follow pictures (well, Swedish is good as well  Cheesy))

I just sent in my application, and I already started on a projekt for leighi123.  Cheesy I know, I have no idea if I will actually be able to claim from her list (since I am not approved yet), but I will take the risk. I got inspired.  Cheesy

Not much action going on. Maybe we are just too few this month or what do you think?
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: OOWYH Swap - Nov 2014 Gallery and discussion on: November 18, 2014 01:30:19 AM
Come on people! Talk! and claim!  Cheesy Just to get some kind of discussion going, what's the weather like at your place. Here in Uppsala, Sweden, we have around 40 degrees F (although we would say 5 degrees C) and rainy weather. I would say this fall has been warmer than usual and most people probably think we should have winter (=snow) by now. It can get very dark here in winter, so the snow really brightens it up. At this time of year, the sun rises at about 8 AM and sets at 3 PM.

Also, please make sure to keep on top of your list. I know there are few swappers, but still there is a requirement to make changes if not claimed. After a couple of days of no claiming, a half price sale might be a good idea, and then please keep reducing prices/adding things daily if possible.

Come on everyone, over to the new thread! http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=436662.msg5262468#msg5262468 Feel free to post there even if you don't join the swap, to make sure you are updated on everything that happens (you may want to join later  Cheesy).
10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: OOWYHS 2014 Discussion Thread on: November 06, 2014 10:33:28 PM
I am definitely interested! and if you want me to co-organize by keeping an eye on things, mainly reminding people to update lists and so on, I would be happy to. Also, please just ask if there is anything you want to know about organizing. I have organized swaps like this one quite a few times. Cheesy It's really not that complicated though. Well, there can be a lot of information to keep track of, but as long as you have everyones contact info in order and keep track of which claims are made/sent/received, it shouldn't be a problem.
