15  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / need ideas on redoing dishes on: December 03, 2006 05:00:20 AM
i recently was given a bunch of hard plastic dishes, platters and a few bowls.  they are all ugly, some with halloween decorations or green and orange thanksgiving ones.  i started a few decoupaged with torn pieces of brown shipping paper--very cheap. it actually looks cool.  i was wondering about some other ideas and also how to seal the ones i already did to make them food safe.

your curly willow branch idea is good, but if it were me, i would spray paint the willow in my wedding color with some chandelier crystals dripping off the end or paper initials hanging from ribbon off the ends

maybe even paper cranes

you could paint regular branches cut off of trees, even cheaper

you could glue on flowers and leaves

or bunches of grapes to go with the wine corks

you could do anything with those

let us know what u decide
