24  cute baby shoes in Shoes: Completed Projects by SamJ on: March 08, 2008 03:59:43 PM
These are my first sewn baby shoes

they are made with denim and green felt ..... with the denim i found it extemely bulky to sew and it feels a bit 'hard' around the ankle so the next pair are gonna be made from something a little more flimsy

25  cute amigurumi bunny with dress in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by SamJ on: March 07, 2008 04:47:06 PM
hey im in an amigurumi swap at the moment and its given me a few ideas of what my skills allow me to make.......

this is not what i will be sending to my partner ..... i certainly would not want to spoil it for her

any ways my daughter has a birthday party to go to this sunday and i thought it would be a great opportunity to use my stash and develop my crochet skills ( i know not alot of skills... its only sc after all..... but its damn annoying when it keeps going wrong ....)

any way heres the present she will be giving to her friend ... who will be 5

when i had completed her i thought she looked a bit naked and i was unsure of her sex (boy/female/transgender)

so i made her a dress

im thinking of adding a head band or maybe some bows  any suggestion?Huh

28  fairy change purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by SamJ on: February 09, 2008 10:05:51 AM
i have just entered my first swap (ott17)

.... i really wanted to post pics sooner (as soon as it was made ) but i had to wait for my swap partner to receive so that i did not spoil it for her

its shape is tapered to the bottom not sure how it ended up like that but it looks ok

i had to hand sew the lining as i couldnt work out how to sew together with the zip and outside.  everytime i tried to do all three together it just wasnt working.

its made from denim,  has a pink lining and lilac zipper and hand embroidered fairy, picking flower beads

this is only my second attempt at using a zip  (the first was a bit of practice in a straight line!!!) and i was very pleased at the results

29  sparkly gold brown bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by SamJ on: February 07, 2008 11:07:55 AM
hey just made this and i couldnt wait to show it

i found both the leather cut offs and the gold/brown material at a thrift store and instantly the image of a bag with wooden handles and wood feet came into my head.... unfortunalty i havent been able to get hold of the feet but i will be keeping my eye open and adding them at a later date

the before

the after

the inside

the bottom

its looks a bit ruffled at the bottom in this pic ... its not really... its just the base not being in properly

as an after thought i think i should have put interfacing on the inside to make it stiffer so its not so saggy.... but then again i havent actually sewn the base in properly so i could still do that.....

30  wicked again in Knitting: Completed Projects by SamJ on: February 01, 2008 03:00:37 AM
my own wicked jumper(s)

my first attempt was a little big for me ...... but perfect for adding layers underneath now its got a little colder here in britain!!!

After having a go at it once i thought.... im gonna do it again except do my own decreases and increases around the waist and hips so it would fit my shape more closely

the decreases to shape waist

the increases to shape around hips

im just now doing another one with my own in/decreases but this time with sleeves will post on sunday/monday when its finished
