You daughter will really stand out in the choir!

Thanks!  She really can't sing on key, so hopefully her beauty will balance out her act.
22  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Upcycled Headpiece, versatile and colorful! (no sew!) With BONUS Tutorial on: April 01, 2010 01:41:59 PM
Being sick this week, I totally spaced out getting a headband for my daughter to wear to perform in the church choir this weekend for Easter.  With a face like this, how could you NOT make her look her best?
(that's your teaser pic)

Then, inspiration hit, and I made one!

This isn't really what I would consider a beginner project though, so make sure to set aside plenty of time, and have supervision while you use the scissors.

First, get some apples at the store, and cut the tags off the bags.
  like this!

At this point, you'll probably need a break.  Make a snack!

Tie the headpiece securely around the head of whoever will wear it.  This is my model, Sophia.

You can use the contrasting colors as accents, and tie it on in a variety of ways!

Look at how shiny it is in the light!

Even like a little veiled hat!

This is one of my favorite ways, cause it looks like a red poppy flower!

She was so excited that she couldn't stop looking at it!

Thanks for checking it out!  Please DO NOT copy this to market it in your shops, as it is my original idea.
C & C Welcome!

(P.S. April Fools!) Smiley
23  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: EyePhone - Upcycled iPhone Case on: April 01, 2010 12:44:24 PM
Can I place an order for one of those?  I don't have an Iphone, but if I had that everyone would THINK that I do.  It's like a status symbol.
24  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenges / Re: Craft Challenge #50 Peanut Butter Transport - Due May 1 - May 7 on: April 01, 2010 08:48:57 AM
I'm so excited for this!  My daughter has peanut allergies, so she'll just have to stay in her room for a week or so while I do this.  I hope spray paint sticks to pb!

Woot Woot!  Craftster Swag, in the HOUSE!

Check out the fantastico-tee I got in the mail.  The silver flex glitter ink is way cool, but it's really lame that you are s'posed to HAND wash it....like that's going to happen.  Oh well.

This pic is from last Wednesday, one of my friends shot some in my studio for my new press and etsy stuff.

Thanks Craftster!

P.S. ALL the art behind me is from SWAPS! Smiley  The Pez on top right is a 'Craftster' bling love Pez, from the swap we did 3 years ago.

I'd like to thank the academy, and my packrat gene for saving all the tidbits, and my kids for knocking it off the wall...

The funny thing this is so neutral in decor, that, even though I took ALL of the holiday decor down before New Years, this is still up!
