1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Stargate SG-1 / Atlantis Swap? on: November 12, 2006 02:34:57 PM
Hey, y'all! I was wondering if anyone would be interested in participating in a Stargate swap, either for Atlantis or for SG-1. I LOVE those shows!!
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knit Multi-Coloured Blanket on: July 20, 2006 06:11:42 PM
I seriously didn't realise how wide this blanket would be when I started it, and then, I wanted to make it long enough for the width to make sense. This is the biggest blanket I have ever seen.

You can see the detail here, behind this purse I made:

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Magazine / Picture Purse on: July 20, 2006 06:08:09 PM
I don't exactly consider this a reconstruction, seeing as I printed or photocopied everything in this bag, including the magazine cover, playing card, etc.

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Checkered Flag Handbag on: July 20, 2006 06:05:08 PM
Bear in mind, everything is hand-sewn. I don't do sewing machines.

I patterned the base of the bag off the handbag I picked up at Old Navy a month or two ago. It's about two feet wide and maybe eighteen inches tall. The bottom is an oval. I used the wrong side of a checkered flag fabric, because I liked the blotchier look of the black squares better than the solid.

I used interfacing on all the checkered fabric, and the lining is black and white tweed. Along the top, you can see how I folded over the tweed and checkered materials and stitched along the top with black thread.

I used glamour rings to attach the handle, which is actually a black feather boa. I attached them with scraps of the interfaced black squares from the checkered material.
