1  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: First Timers Swap, Sign up CLOSED, Sendouts 11/11 on: October 15, 2006 06:32:16 AM
I think we're probably all a little nervous about the swapping of our work! *grins* I am!! I craft for family and friends, and always have harcore anxiety, and it gets worse when I'm about to give it to whoever I made it for!

Lessee...as far as what I do...

I do some crochet, but I love making really kitchy cup and bottle cozies, so that's as far as I've progressed with the skill level.

I sew, mostly home linen type stuff. Pillows, pillowcases, reconned towels, etc.

I embroider, especially in love with patterns my grandma used to do, day of the week stuff. I just bought 3 sets of patterns from Sublime for my cousins dishtowel that he doesn't knot he's getting for Christmas.

I also love making random crafts....ATCs, decorated devotional candles (those big, glass candles with the pope, saints, etc. on them), crazy switchplate covers. I'll also embark on just about any new craft that gives me an excuse for buying a "how-to" kit to learn how to do it!

I'm super excited to talk to my partner!!

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Crocheted Headphone Covers! (a tad img heavy) on: October 01, 2006 09:36:24 AM
This is so cool, I'm thinking about doing it to my fairly new headphones as a customization!
5  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: Knitting faster? HOW? on: October 01, 2006 09:26:21 AM
I like to anchor my right needle against my stomach so that it is independant of the rest of my knitting. Goofy, but it works.

I do the same thing!

Honestly, I started knitting two years ago, only been doing it off and on, and I have gotten faster. My trick is to put on a movie, or find a marathon of Mythbusters, Project Runway, or some other guilty pleasure, and just GO. By the end, I'm all caught up on my show of choice, and I've finished WAY more of my project than I realized I could.

Also, knitting with friends.
6  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: cute printed tablecloth thingy... what the heck.. impulse buying.. now what?!! on: October 01, 2006 09:21:03 AM
Some clear packing tape, coordinated duct tape, and you could have a very cool, WATERPROOF purse or tote:
