Being away in college means that I've got lots of time to craft, yet no room for craft supplies. So recently I brought up a scalpel and a sketch pad with the hope of being creative!

Last September I made this, kinda just to practice a few techniques. My boyfriend had just introduced me to this song and the title really appealed to me. I'm a typography lover, I'm addicted to seeing things like lyrics visually...

I know it's really rough and the photo is just taken with my phone, but I'd just like to say about anyone thinking of doing this - DO IT! It's simple and really rewarding

The thing at the bottom was supposed to be a torch but turned more into a broom.

Randomly flicking through the different boards of Craftster I came across a list of tutorials/patterns for plushies. When I saw a link for a lil slice of bread I just couldn't resist!

So Fred da Bread was born. I didn't name him so, my brother (who, at 19, is older that me and should know better....) decided to make up his life story:

Fred is an up and coming rap star who was born in the ghettos of Dundalk. (Dundalk doesn't have ghettos, nor does my bread plush resemble an MC, but I didn't have the heart to point that out...  )



Having been cut off from his family at a young age, Fred has spent the past few years writing his own rhymes and attending freestyle rap battles in Boyd's car parks. He enjoys drinking Scholer with his bitches and hanging out on top of the mantlepiece with his bros Nev (an action figure of Neville Longbottom from Harry Potter, yes I'm obsessed with HP  ) and the old guy who's part of a bookend.




Fred came with us the other week when we visited the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum (not to be confused with the Ulster American Folk Park, but both are really cool and should not be missed!) and enjoyed himself thoroughly!

He rocked out in the old style houses, taking particular interest in the kitchens (and the baking stuff, perhaps it reminded it of his childhood)



He even got in on the act when we were in the old school house, posing for pictures when we were messing around on the mini blackboards...

And if you've read all this then you're a saint! I hope I haven't bored you to death.... Perhaps you'll make you're own lil slice of bread and have an adventure like me and my brother did with Fred!

Okay, this is only my 6th post of craftster so please excuse if I've posted this in the wrong place! But I have spotted something about a sewing machine on this board!

Today, a friend of my dads asked me if I wanted a sewing machine.  For free!!! Naturally I jumped at the opportunity of owning my own sewing machine! (My mum has one, but she's 51. I'm 15, so I don't...) Earlier this evening my dads friend dropped it off and it is the most beautiful sewing machine I've ever seen! My brother just looked at it and said "it's old" but I didn't care! I love old things! (I've two typewriter, for God's sake!  )

But this is my problem. I've NO clue how to work the machine at all. It's a cream coloured 'Novum' sewing machine and there is a little label telling me that it was made in Ireland. I tried googling 'Novum' but nothing of value came up.

I've got this fab sewing machine but no idea about it. I'd post a pic of it up but we haven't got a digital camera. (my brother is getting one for his birthday next week but shhh! it's a secret!!!  )

Tomorrow is gonna be an ultra busy day cuz I've got to dye my hair purple and I'm going to the cinema so I won't have that much time to mess around with my new machine. I'm terrified that I might break something!!!!

Ok, does anybody know where I could find a stencil of Zidane? I've been looking for a while but I can't find one . It's for a t-shirt for my brother. Any help would be extremely appreciated
