1  Graduation Dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by frothy on: July 17, 2006 05:22:34 PM
Hello there! I am new to craftster, just joined today.

On June 22nd I had my Grade Eight graduation night. Everyone was supposed to dress up and look fancy, so of course, I had been dreaming of this day since the 4th grade. After MANY different designs of dresses, with different ideas of colouring/length/styles, I came up with a dress design that I adored. I bought the crinoline (underneath the dress) for $40 in Kensington Market (I live near Toronto), and the fabric at Fabricland for about $45 (including boning, zipper, thread, pink lining). About $85 total, which is not bad, considering many girls bought their dresses for $150+. Since I am not as experianced in machine-sewing (most of my projects I hand sew), my mom helped me out quite a bit. The dress is two seperate pieces: a corset-type thing for the top, and basic modified circle skirt for the bottom.

My good friend, Raph, and I!

My father and I, dancing.

And again..
