11  A Different Kind of Swiffer Cover in Knitting: Completed Projects by trinashere on: April 19, 2007 05:11:13 AM
With some inspiration from Green Mountain Mama at

http://greenmountainmama.blogspot.com/2006/05/whiplash-color.html

I created a reusable and highly effective cover for my Swiffer. Now I don't have to buy those expensive covers and ruin the environment every time I sweep my floor!

This is from Mason Dixon, of course.

How I attached it.

Yes, it really works!

*Edited to fix broken link. Sorry!

You need to add tags to your links, like this:

but take the html off the link first.

Make sense?  Hope so.

13  Re: Christmas Stocking Swap 2 in The Swap Gallery by trinashere on: December 04, 2006 06:23:18 AM
I received from gebah on Saturday, and she spoiled me rotten!

First off, the amazing flamingo stocking and a mini flamingo ornament using a candy cane and fleece - she sent me three of the little guys.

Here's a nice shot of some of the goodies.

Everything that smelled and tasted good, an orange candle, eggnog flavored coffee, a coffee shower scrub and chocolate fortune cookies. She also sent me a choclate with almonds bar as big as my head, but my husband stole it before I could take a picture. She had a tag on it that said "size matters." HA!

Some great brown fuzzy and glittery yarn, named Disco, because of my obsession with the 1970s.

A really cute measuring tape, which I love, and a ruler and protractor than bend without breaking!

Here's some crafted items: a totally cute wooden frame she finished with a flamingo scene (this is already on the wall in my home office), a plushie kitty folksy Christmas decoration, and a metal and beaded initial ornament for my tree.

She sent this cute superhero gluestick with a tag that read "the best stocking stuffer a Craftster can get." Plus, it can came with two extra gluesticks!

I didn't get a picture of the cat treats, dog rawhides and two pretty purple Chinese yoyos gebah sent, because some members of my household are impatient!

But maybe the funniest and best thing of all ... EVIL CIRCUS PEANUTS!

On my survey I listed circus peantus as a taste that I dislike. Gebah PM'ed me and said it cracked her up, to which I replied, no seriously, they're evil. So she outfitted three of the nasty things to look like the Joker, the Rddler and Cat Woman. This lady cracks me up!

One more thing, which totally surprised me. Gebah's not a knitter, but I had put on my survey that I loved the hat Kirsten Dunst wore in "Elizabethtown." So she found a pattern for it and commandeered one of her crafty friends to make it for me! I've hardly taken it off since Saturday!

Obligatory hat action shot to follow:

I'm in my basement, what can I say?

Thank you so much, gebah! This was the best first swap ever and you made it great!

14  Re: FELT in Craftalongs by trinashere on: November 27, 2006 09:55:37 AM
I made this cheesburger for a swap. Every piece is detailed and embroidered. There is velcro on the bottom of each piece so they stick together.

Here's a detail of the pickles:

I've also been making felt ornaments, like half the Craftster population, but I thoght I'd share two.

Thanks for looking!

15  The Super-Cool New Jersey Stocking (complete w/ photos) in Winter Holidays by trinashere on: November 27, 2006 09:48:45 AM

I made this for a swap with a crafter from The Garden State. She's really active on the New Jersey board, so I thought I'd give her a fillable state for Christmas.

Well tracking says that gebah recieved my package on Thanksgiving morning, so I'll post some pics of what I sent.

First off, the stocking. gebah's from Jersey, so I made a Jersey stocking

Now the insides ...

A change purse covered in fall buttons from her wists.

My first-ever ATC.

Some toys for her kitties.

A felt cheesburger, also based off her wists. Every section comes apaprt, and it's all embroidered. There's velcro on the bottom of each piece do you can switch it all around.

There's the pickles.

These are a couple ornaments I made.

A brownie mix with holiday decorations since she loves chocolate.

This is a scarf I knit. I learned how to do bobbles just for gebah. It's somewhat based on a wist of hers.

Finally some store-bought stuff: a Christmas glitter candle, some chocolates, a bookmark and some metal buttons with words on them for ATC making.

I had a blast with my first swap. But I'm still waiting impatiently for my package!

17  Re: Vintage 'dos and make-up (Come share your secrets!) in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by trinashere on: November 20, 2006 09:31:24 AM
This is a really easy style that's old-fashioned inspired.

I just took my bangs, swept them over and twisted them into a small bun on the side of my head. Then I took the rest and french twisted it. I have pretty thin hair, so I use a crap-load of bobby pins and a little hairspray.

I knit this for my pastor's wife. It's their first baby, and my first knitting project other than a scarf ...

So I met Angela this weekend. She was actually really down-to-earth and sweet, and really talked a lot about how things really were at Atlas and in the workroom.

And since I can't avoid shameless self-promotion, here we are:

And the shot everyone wants to see, more rosettes:

I know it's a crappy shot, but have you ever tried discretely taking a picture of someone's butt in a crowded room? It's not that easy.

20  A Voodoo Cushion - A Place to Stick Your Pins ... in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by trinashere on: September 11, 2006 04:47:16 AM
My husband kept yelling at me for having pins all over my craft room floor ...

So I made something to stick 'em in that also can help out my angry, stressed side.

It's a Voodoo Cushion!

He's cute, right?

Notice the carefully placed pins - ouch!

Thanks for looking!
