1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Make A Friend 10 Gallery on: October 16, 2014 04:39:11 PM
Here are some pictures of the stuff Dinkime sent me! (sorry it took so long)

The goods all wrapped up in paper bags and washi tape!

She sent some paper straws, a plastic scrapbook thingy, floral pencils, cupcake decorations, photo coasters, a couple of children's books, and a framed collage she made!

She also sent some really nice handmade blank cards.  I've already used a couple of them!

Thanks a ton!  Smiley

I claim frosty772 for some YARN! Cheesy

1/0/0

Hi!  My name is Ginger and I live in San Diego, CA with my dude.  we don't have any furry children, but we do have TWINS on the way! Not sure what their genders are, but we should find out soonish.  I'm not very far along yet, so I'm not going to ask for many baby things.

We recently moved out of state, and I had to get rid of a lot of my things (long story)...so my house is pretty barren right now.  We definitely need more functional and/or decorative household type stuff.

I love knitting, embroidery/cross-stitch, and sewing.  My fella and I are soapmakers, and we had a deep appreciation for handmade soap and other bath/body products.  I recently learned how to handspin yarn, though I've been holding off due to a shoulder injury.  I also love to paint with acrylics and watercolors.

I have a very kitschy, quirky sense of style. I love jewel tones for things around the house, but my favorite colors to wear are DARK purple, dark grey/charcoal, navy blue, and black.  I really like deep red shades too.

I'm a sucker for terrariums, foxes, amigurumi, pandas, chococat, kitties, boston terriers (we are getting one when we move into a house at the end of the year!) and jars of whimsies.

I enjoy fabrics that have tiny patterns (which almost look like the designs that you see on origami paper), especially sashiko designs! retro floral patterns are pretty neat too. I also like black and white tiny polka dots.

Sewn:

-A retro apron. I love the kind with ruffles on the bottom.  Kinda like this http://www.allfreesewing.com/Aprons/Easy-Ruffle-Apron thanks Jemimah!

-Box bag for craft stuff.  http://www.craftsy.com/project/pattern/sewing/accessory/no-guts-boxie-pouch/13424 thanks Averia!

-Japanese knot bags. They are so perfect for knitting. Please use this pattern! (they are more roomy)

thanks frosty772!

-I need knitting needle cases very badly. Especially one for DPNs.  I like how this case is constructed - https://www.etsy.com/listing/57170147/needle-case-needle-holder-craft-bag?ref=shop_home_active_17

-Wallet http://oliverands.com/product/OLV-SS005HA1.html

-Zip up bags for craft supplies

Fiber:

-Knitted or crocheted amigurumi toys for the babies.  Please make sure that they are baby safe (no buttons, etc)

-Baby beanies in earth tones or gender neutral colors.

-French Press Felted slippers, size 10. https://www.etsy.com/listing/41507335/pdf-pattern-download-french-press-felted

-Amigurumi cactus in a tiny clay pot.  I had one of these that I received from a previous swap, and it got lost in our last move.  I'm so bummed.  It was the cutest thing ever! http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/cf/73/7c/cf737c3f3bc986d31654595a92c79bea.jpg

-Knitted socks (I can dream, right?)

-Big chunky knitted cowls

-Fluffy bunny slippers, size 10 http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fluffy-bunny-slippers

-My dear, a deer trophy http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/my-dear---a-deer-trophy

-mug cozies like this one. https://www.etsy.com/transaction/162271470?

-Peekaboo mitts http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/peekaboo-mitts

-A hat for me! - http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/knit-night-hat

-A hat for my fella - http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/graham-2 any masculine color will do (dark gray, navy blue, etc)

Jewelry

-Embroidery pendants. I love the kind with little flowers, or maybe even a tiny fox.  This one is pretty cool https://www.etsy.com/listing/174854834/poppy-field-hand-embroidery-pendant?ref=shop_home_active_1&ga_search_query=poppy

-Terrarium pendants (there are some on my pinterest)

-I love little bracelets made from tiny czech glass flowers like these https://www.etsy.com/listing/171023464/stackables-bracelets-collectible-beaded?ref=unav_listing-same

-I've been meaning to make one of these necklaces for years, and would totally love one.  They're little metal shapes with embroidery floss crocheted around it.  Pretty neat!  https://www.etsy.com/listing/122357934/pink-bib-necklace-crochet-leaves-beaded?ref=shop_home_active

-Dishcloths/kitchen scrubbies

-Embroidered napkins and placemats.  These are perfect - http://www.pinterest.com/pin/261560690831100196/  Free pattern here - http://www.feelingstitchy.com/2011/02/wanna-stitchalong-with-us.html.  I also like Scandinavian embroidery designs.

-these crocheted organizer bag thingies. http://www.lutteridyl.dk/2011/09/haeklet-haengekurv.html

Supplies

-Vintage (or vintage inspired) ephemera paper

-Paint brushes (can never have too many)

-Yarn. I hate to sound like a brat, but I don't really use the stuff you find in big box craft stores (like michaels, joanns, etc) Madelinetosh, Malabrigo, and Noro are my current favorites. I also LOVE indie hand-dyed yarns.

-tshirt yarn for making rugs.

-Czech glass beads

-heart-shaped buttons

-fabric scraps

-Jars of whimsies

-glass tiles/frames for making pendants

Misc:

-A kindle fire case.  Knitted or sewn.

-Handmade soap.  I haven't had good experiences with melt and pour soaps, but any other kind is good.  Any scent is ok (even masculine stuff because my dude will happily use it) as long as it isn't heavily floral.  I really love honey-scented soaps. And fruity scents like strawberry. And pumpkin spice everything.

-Scrubs.  Salt, sugar, lip scrubs, whateva.

-Lip balms, body butters.

-Homemade jams, sauces.  We are vegetarian, so no gelatin please.  But we love pretty much anything.  Fall spices (like pumpkiny, cinnamon type stuff) are a big plus.

Thank you in advance for picking me!

I'm planning on claiming someone soon.  I was thinking about claiming zombiecazz, but I don't think I can swing international shipping right now.  I have too many packages going out this month! lol

I'm busy working away on my list!  I'm probably the most indecisive person in the world, and I've changed my mind a bunch of times...but I think I'll have a solid list of stuff to send at the end of the month Smiley
