1  Re: Yarnies Scavenger Hunt Round 7 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by gingerpeachy on: October 20, 2013 02:52:36 PM
I got a really amazing project from Whistley!  You'll have to forgive me because I forget which item is for what category on some of the stuff.  But it's all really great and I LOVE it!

A really cute project bag.  I love this thing!!!  I LOVE KITTIES!  "Something dotted", I think?

The white yarn is "something local" and the bottom skein is Manos del Uruguay silky merino! (something M, I presume).  The white yarn is made from start to finish locally (the person who made it did EVERYTHING down to shearing the sheep, if I remember correctly)...I'm thinking about hand-painting it. Smiley  The silky merino is this really pretty mix of pinks, purples, and browns.

The funny thing about this item is that I made her the SAME EXACT THING, though I think her version looks way better than mine.  I saw this item on her pinterest and added it to my own.  Love this!!!

"Something funny" - an octopus with a mustache! Cheesy  and "Something green" - a crocheted cactus that I had on my pinterest!!!! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

"Something recycled" - decorated altoid tin, "Something hard" - stitch markers (I think that's the right category), and the pendant was "sender's choice"

Thanks again for the really great package!  I love EVERYTHING Smiley

I received a super adorable pin cushion frame, and a needlebook from dessadoll!!

Sorry for the delay in posting a pic!  Things have been a little nuts around here.  I love them both very much and have already put them to use!

3  Malabrigo drop-stitch cowl in Knitting: Completed Projects by gingerpeachy on: October 11, 2013 01:05:06 PM
I've been on FIRE lately!  I'm on a yarn diet, which means no more new pretties until I use up some of the yarn I already have...so that means it is time to get to work!

Malabrigo Rasta is probably one of my all time favorite yarns.  Here is another drop-stitch cowl in the colorway "piedras."

There is no solid pattern here.  Ever since I learned how to do the drop-stitch technique on a scarf, I've been experimenting with it in other garments.  I had intended for this one to not be so long, but I think it looks nice regardless.

4  Fauxthropologie Fox Stole in Knitting: Completed Projects by gingerpeachy on: October 10, 2013 06:07:35 PM

Behold, the Fauxthropologie Fox Stole.  It took me FOREVER to finish it...but I'm really pleased with how it came out.  Made a few minor adjustments so it would be more like a scarf than a stole (made the body quite a bit longer)

You can find the pattern here:  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fauxthropologie-fox-stole

5  Camp Out Fingerless Mitts! in Knitting: Completed Projects by gingerpeachy on: September 26, 2013 03:24:05 PM

Behold!  A pair of Camp Out Fingerless Mitts!  Yarn used was Noro Silk Garden Lite.  You can find the pattern here on Ravelry:

I'm going to try to make another pair using different yarn.  This pattern was quick and fun to knit up.  Cheesy

I just received the most delightful package from Grab A Coffee today!

I was having a really, really bad morning....then I headed to the post office to pick up my package, and I was immediately delighted with what I found in that package!!

Behold, the kitty ring!!! This was on my pinterest account for a long time! (or one that looks very, very similiar)  I'm not sure where you found this time, Grab A Coffee, but its friggin amazing.  I am such a sucker for kitties (some may say that I am obsessed)nd this is PERFECT for me.

A lovely pair of felt earrings!  The photo does not do them any justice!  (plus its uber bright outside, and too dark inside to take photos)

I also got some really nice felting wool in a variety of colors.

Thank you so much for the really nice swap package, Grab A Coffee!! You are the best!! <3

7  Re: Post your CRAFTY Tattoos! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by gingerpeachy on: August 25, 2013 11:51:21 AM

This is my knitting tattoo!  I wanted to make the ball of yarn heart-shaped, because I really like heart-shaped things!  I've been doodling them all over everything since I was a little kid.  Hopefully my next tattoo will have something to do with sewing Smiley

8  Skittles Cowl! in Knitting: Completed Projects by gingerpeachy on: July 30, 2013 10:05:19 PM
It's been a hot minute since I've posted an FO!

I call this the Skittles cowl...mostly because the rainbow colorway reminds me of a bowl of skittles.

Just a regular ol' drop stitch cowl in Malabrigo Rasta Arco Iris!  I didn't use one particular pattern...The drop-stitch technique is pretty easy...I just casted on about 48 stitches, joined in the round, knitted in garter stitch for a few rows, added a row of knit 1 YO twice, then repeated until I felt it was long enough.

I'm super obsessed with this colorway by Malabrigo.  Every single skein looks different.  I love it!!

Action shot!

Thanks for looking! <3

9  A few batches of soap! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by gingerpeachy on: May 28, 2013 10:10:33 AM

Check out these beauties!  The black soap is tea tree charcoal facial soap.  Behind that is some orange eucalyptus, sweet rose (had to rebatch since the fragrance made my soap seize..but gave it a nice texture) The brown soap is orange vanilla honey.  A local beekeeper totally hooked me up with some wonderful honey for soap at a pretty reasonable price.  Smiley

I used a combination of olive, sustainable palm, coconut, and shea butter.  I really love making cold process soap.  It has quickly become one of my favorite hobbies.

I received an awesome package from bambam91!!

Unfortunately, the terrarium broke in transit. Sad

but check out all of this awesome stuff!!! (not picture is the chutney she sent because it leaked in transit, but was still salvageable!)
Drinking chocolate, Vege chips (already eaten lol), juice boxes, chocolates, yarn, cute little alligator keychain, cereal, tons of tea, nut bars, biscuits, coffee & chickory essence, chai, and some really cool postcards.

but my favorite thing of all....

VEGEMITE!!! AND CHEESYBITE!!!  I've had this stuff many times before, and I just LOVE it!!!

I really like how bambam91 took extra care to make sure everything in the box was something I could eat.  I'm a vegetarian with an egg and gluten sensitivity, so I know it had to be a bit of a challenge to find stuff for me.  This package was amazing.  Thanks a TON!! Smiley
