2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: 20's Themed Party Favors on: September 07, 2006 12:52:51 PM
The Queen Mary is beautiful. What a great choice for a wedding! I like the idea of giving the men model T cars to the men and long beads to the women.

When I think 1920's I think Prohibition mafia. Also, the Charleston and I believe that one of the period cocktails was the Gimlet. I once did Romeo and Juliet in that style. The musical Anything Goes is 1920's I believe. So is The Boy Friend.

5  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Re: Angel dress from Romeo + Juliet on: September 06, 2006 12:51:03 AM
I don't know about a pattern, but I do love that dress. I spent alot of time in high school watching that movie and trying to figure out how on earth they got her hair in that halo type braid.
6  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: My1st sowing machine on: September 06, 2006 12:44:50 AM
You sow seeds, you sew fabric.

sorry, I couldn't resist.

Anyway, that doesn't look like the sort of sewing machine that would work too well, but you should check the reviews. If you're going to get a sewing machine at all, you should get a real sewing machine if you can. I've read lots of horrible things about Handy Stitch type machines, and while this one looks better than those, I would be wary. It would be great for space if this did work decently, though.

Definitely read the reviews though. on Outpost, and also google the product name to find any other sites with reviews on the product.

9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Steve Irwin on: September 04, 2006 11:43:41 PM
I just started my first swap, but wow, what a freak accident, and a tragic story. I couldn't believe it. I think a swap would be a great way to honor his memory.

Perhaps you could subscribe to one of the UK or American magazines. I know some magazines will ship internationally.
