Someone on Ravelry saved a pic of an interesting cabled sweater she wants to make, but can't remember the source.  She guesses it's from about 3 years ago & that's it's a published (not free) pattern.  The link is to her flickr, so suggestions & comments there are probably welcome.

ETA: Someone found the exact pattern in Austermann Stricktrend 16, pattern 22 fall/winter 2001, but Norah Gaughan also confirmed that she has a similarly constructed pattern in VK, which she'll hunt up the info for.

I just got this e-mail with the coolest lace shawl pattern EVER.  I adore Sharon Winsauer's work (she did the Heere Be Dragone shawl & Winter Wonderland). 

The pic isn't up at her website yet, but I'm sure if you look for the current catalog (it's free on the website), she'll have added it! It's $15, but well worth saving for!

I e-mailed and asked about the yarn, she wrote

I used most of  two skeins of  Fino, (alpaca/silk lace weight  875 yds / 100 g). I would say it probably takes about 1500 yds depending on how you knit.
