So, i decided to teach myself how to Fair-isle
and i got a pattern for a bolivian llama-filled hat, and it kept med busy for quite some time (five double point-needles=not my cuppa tea) but i finished it up and by this winter Llamas will rule the northern hemisphere

2  My very first knit finally out of the closet (w new pic, VeggieJess ;) in Knitting: Completed Projects by springtime on: June 12, 2008 11:06:28 AM
Hi again

I'm trying to catch up and i'm posting everything i haven't posted so far, and this Skully from Stitch'n'Bitch was my first ever real knitting experience.
It was done during the hottest summer week in july (i was being very punk and anti-everything knitting on the beach in the middle of all the bikini gals).
Since i have mad problems with accepting any authority, i changed the skull-pattern a bit.

Here it is..(model: my sister)

and the skull. I basically made it more detailed than the one in the book. It took quite some time before i got the pattern right, but i was sooo proud when i nailed it...

3  Pin-up Grrl with a twist in Knitting: Completed Projects by springtime on: June 12, 2008 10:57:58 AM
Woo..
for some reason i quit coming to craftster, but now i've found my way back.
I love looking at all your stuff, people! You're all so very inspiring.
Anyway, during my time off, though, i've been knitting like a mad woman, and these are the results (i make three posts bc of image-obesity)

This is Pin-up Grrl from ths Stitch'n'Bitch-book. I made a few changes though, which sort of messed up the size (it's huuge), but i love my Grrl anyway.

and the back, where i did stockinette instead o rib, and added a hole and a button

4  "Where Wild Things Are"-skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by springtime on: August 07, 2006 01:26:18 AM
my all time top five fav artists resident no 1 Maurice Sendak's book Where Wild Things Are has so many wonderful pictures of cutsie monsters, who wouldn't wanna wear them?

I made this skirt from a stretchy cotton fabric, and then I freehanded the monster with acrylic paint. Now the skirt is a biiiit too tight, but I'm planning a skirt-to-top recpnstruciton. we'll see about that...

but anyway, here are some pics of it
enjoy!

all of it

close-up

I twisted the close-up, so that's why Monster looks to the left instead of looking like he does in the big pic..

6  Totoro stencil bag in Stenciling: Completed Projects by springtime on: August 06, 2006 04:58:42 AM
I got the idea for this bag when I saw sublimalrabbit's totoro tee (further down on the stencil page), so I got my sewing machine and some fabric, made a bag and nicked the stencil from her tee, and ust stencilized my bag.
I did miss a few things when I cut it, but who cares... It's Tototro!!

and here it is....

7  Totoro stencil bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by springtime on: August 06, 2006 04:50:46 AM
I saw this totoro stencil in the stencil area, someone had put it on a tee. I'm a totoro-ite, so I copied the stencil and sew a nice little bag to go with it.
I kinda like it.
