this she fixed by a bit of added y's

then she sent all these with a name for each of the family, dog and cats included:
these are all so awesome!
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / MY first ever POPPET: PIC OBESE on: September 29, 2011 02:30:47 AM
I have admired people like my fave poppet maker lanikins and their poppet creations and I finally made one myself~!  Well, I made this for a swap but the more and more I created, the more my family and husband were clamoring that they would be upset if I let her leave the family confines and that I should make another one for the swap... so without further ado, my eldest DD christened her "Wisteria":

Thanks for looking!!
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Toilet paper roll holder on: September 27, 2011 02:10:03 PM
I had seen these on pinterest and other places and thought I need to make one of those.  I am in the process of buying a new house and the bathroom I have dreams of creating in an aurora borealis theme since I live in Alaska and LOVE the Northern Lights.  So, I started playing with the fabric markers and this is what I came up with:

completed:

in process:

I think I would add some length of fabric to any more that I make and make the picture smaller, maybe do some embroidery.
4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / online felt supplier? on: September 14, 2011 11:27:34 AM
Living in Alaska my suppliers are limited to Joanns and Michaels.  Can anyone give me good links to felt craft suppliers and also where can I get good tools to either make my own felt cutouts (sissix? cuttlebug?) like flowers, stars, leaves, etc, small tiny notion things I see on peoples pincushions, etc. or a place to purchase them in bulk?
5  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / ami eyes, where do you buy them? on: September 14, 2011 11:25:03 AM
Living in Alaska I have limited resources outside of Joanns or Micheals.  All I can find are plain black or black and white or brown and black.  Can anyone give me good online resources?  Thanks!!!  also for movable parts pieces for arms and legs, etc.
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / new dishcloth scrubbie with pattern link (untested) on: July 18, 2011 02:35:15 AM
I have always thought of making a scrubbie cloth but hadn't read a pattern.  While washing dishes today I decided to dry out my scrubbie and add a dishcloth to it, making it up as I went.  I really like how it turned out but I haven't tested it out on anything yet!  I did write the pattern after the fact, so I am not certain it will work, let me know if you do try it!  Thanks for looking, Carey

7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Journal/journalling swap? on: June 26, 2011 04:05:12 AM
I have always loved journals, though I keep them so erratically.  I love seeing homemade journals, journal covers, bookmarks, that sort of thing.  Maybe a journal/journalling swap?  What does everyone think?
8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Challah Cover for Make a Friend swap on: May 15, 2008 05:55:54 PM
Here is what I made for Quilted... This is only one of my first few projects, and let me just say, I am loving embroidery more and more!

This image from a challah cover I found online was my inspiration

9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / First attempt: Owl bag for swap on: January 20, 2008 02:26:06 AM
Hey there, I really am so impressed the embroidery I have seen on this site!  I never much gave it a thought, until I saw the cool skulls, tattoo inspired, day of the dead, pin up stuff that makes me want to jump in and start my needle flying everywhere!  So for the owly swap on here, I decided to give her a go:

10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Rebellious Wristlets part deux on: January 14, 2008 02:24:24 PM
Here is a pattern for a similar wristlet set as the one I posted before.  I wrote the pattern for these, but not the other ones!

These were for my daughter after she was jealous of the gifts I made for her friend.

Make 2

Hook: J10, Yarn: Lion Brand Jiffy gauge: 4 stitches and 2 rows per 1 inch

Chain 23.

R1: Skip first chain, sc in next chain, sc to end, ch 4 turn (counts as first dc)
R2: (dc in 2nd ch from hook, sc) 10 times, ch 1, dc in last stitch, ch 1 turn (12 dc)
R3: sc in 1st dc, (sc in ch 1 sp, sc in dc) to end, ch 2 turn (22 sc) ending wth sc in last dc
R4: hdc in each sc to end (22 hdc) ch 4 turn
R5: (dc in 2nd ch from hook, sc) 10 times, ch 1, dc in last ch, ch1 turn
R6: sc in 1st dc (sc in ch1 sp, sc in dc) to end (22 sc) ch 2 turn (ending with sc in last dc)
R7-8: hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in each sc to end (22 hdc) ch 2 turn
R9: hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next 3 ch, chain 4hdc in 5th ch from hook, hdc to end ch 2 turn (19 hdc)
R10: hdc in 2nd ch, hdc 11 times, (hdc in ch 4 sp) 4 times, hdc to end, ch 2 turn
R11-16: hdc in each ch to end, ch 2 turn, leave 10" tail to sew sides together.

Place wristlets in front of you, be sure to position thumb holes correctly before seaming together. Essentially you will flip one of the wristlets. this is an important step. I had to redo one of each my daughters, due to watching tv at the same time...haha.

Next use ribbons, or chain a length of contrasting Jiffy yarn (as seen in pic), I used a 21" length of chain for the lacing.

To finish off, sc in contrasting color evenly spaced around the top of the wristlet. For bottom, do the same, or as I did, evenly spaced around the bottom do this pattern: sc, picot, sc, picot.

Viola!

Please do not sell these, use this pattern to give away as gifts and if you show them please place a link to the pattern on my blog! http://fiberclectica.blogspot.com/2008/01/pattern.html
Thank you,
Carey 2008
