I posted the shamrock shirt I made for my daughter before  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=163660.msg1658483#msg1658483

I made her another one. This one used a 2 part stencil and she is very happy with it. I think I might make another for her friend in dance class so they can match *love*

My head is totally different too but I like it. Cheesy I can't wait to see yours.

Here is my first attempt. All of the stuff I make is hand sewn because I don't know how to work my sewing machine yet. lol

I'm working on mine too. She looks totally different though, thats the joy of crafting - everyone does even the same pattern a bit differently.

Thanks so much for the pattern.

Just one pair of socks. The head is one foot section and then 4 legs from each sock body.

But he looks huge! How did you get four legs from each sock without the material all unraveling?

This octopus does indeed Rock My Socks! Cheesy

His head is about 6 inches long and 3ish wide. its a whole foot portion minus the heel - I cut off before the heel. I considered keeping it to make a beak but a real puss's beak is under its body so in the end I nixed it.

His legs are about 12inches long but not even an inch wide.  I took the body sections that you would make the legs with and cut in half - not all the way to the top. I left a few stripes uncut. Then I cut the halves in half again so you get 4 leg sections from each sock. You end up with a super long sock version of  a grass skirt - so to speak. Then repeat with the other section to get 4 other legs.

Once the legs were stuffed and sewn I fit one section up theough the center of the other sock leg section middle and then I sewed the now set of 8 legs into the body.

SO CUTE!

I used pipe cleaner for my socktopuss arms and it was a pain, I think wire would be much easier on such thin things. Thanks for the idea. Cheesy
