111  Target bags turned candle holder in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by RecycleMicol on: July 18, 2006 08:48:40 AM
I know it's been done before, but I crocheted this basket out of Target (plastic) bags and sent it to my Sis O' Bliss.  She added a candle and put it in her bathroom.  If I had known it was going to be used for such a pretty purpose, I would have done a better job on my technique!!!

112  Party for a Pre-Teen Boy in Party Planning by RecycleMicol on: July 18, 2006 08:43:19 AM
Here's what I did for my step-son's 11th birthday party this year.  He got to invite all of his friends from school & church to spend the night with little business card size invitations that I printed out at home and cut out of cardstock.

I made this cake.  It is real fudge icing so it's not perfectly smooth like fondant.  The orbs are bamboo skewers covered with fondant.  I made the white cake petit fours for those who can't eat chocolate.  The disks on those are fondant as well.  The 'Retro Picks' poked into some of them are toothpicks with store-bought snowball pompons glued on.  (A great way to make cheap appetizer picks for any appetizer!)

113  Crocheted Baby Bonnet and Poncho (Pic Heavy) in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by RecycleMicol on: July 18, 2006 08:28:25 AM
I made this for my neighbor to give at a baby shower for a friend of hers.  The yarn is Moda Dea 'Dream', which is my favorite novelty yarn so far! (Along with some other soft pink baby yarn)

I didn't have a pattern, so I probably couldn't make it exactly the same again if I tried!

114  My Green Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by RecycleMicol on: July 18, 2006 07:21:05 AM
I learned how to net (make my own fishnet by hand) a few months back.  I've been making great produce bags out of clearance novelty yarns. This time I knitted a top on it, crocheted the flap and strap and sewed buttons for closures.  These pictures really don't do this bag justice...the colors are very rich and the feel of the bag is great. (first time trying to post pics from photobucket...hope it works!)
