101  Re: Many Uses For / Incarnations Of Picture Marbles in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by TrashedClothing on: August 12, 2006 04:46:52 PM
Hey CD! I just went and took special pictures just for you! Haha. I am not so good at getting away from the glare, but these are the only other barettes I have made. I also made a set of 5 push pins from the "extras". Hope you like!!

102  Awesome shaker boxes in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by TrashedClothing on: August 12, 2006 08:39:58 AM
Hi everyone! My mom is a regular Martha Stewart who makes very traditional country crafts. Recently, she's been trying new things and aside from wire wrapped pendats(which are awesome and posted under jewelry), she has been doing some shaker boxes. These happen to be my favorite and if she continues to refuse me on purchasing the fall one, I will have to sneak into her house one night, leave money, snatch it, and run!! Haha. What do you guys think? She is doing some shows in the fall and although this isn't THAT kind of board, everyone seems cool about different genres. Thanks for looking!!

103  Wire wrapped pendants(img heavy) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by TrashedClothing on: August 12, 2006 08:33:54 AM
Hi everyone! I'm posting these on behalf of my mom. She does very traditional country crafts, but recently she tried her hand at something else. She's doing some craft shows this fall and I think these are awesome, but she has her doubts. We were thinking of charging $8 for the pendant and a piece of nylon cord for the necklace. What do you guys think? There are far too many to show so I will put a few of my favorites!! Thanks for looking and any comments would be greatly apprecaited!  Grin

I have a likely lame question, but am going to ask it anyway.

I need some advice for getting the glue residue OFF the marbles after I've done all this gluing. There seems to be a lot of it, and I'm not having a lot of luck with just picking it off. Maybe soap/water? I fear using the water, as I don't want it seeping into/between the two marbles causing them to split apart.

This is probably a lame answer so I guess we will go hand in hand. Haha. What about trying to use the corner of a blade to scrape it off. Obviously you don't want to push too hard so it doesn't scratch the marble, but it could work. Also, what kind of glue are you using? I use decoupage on the base of the stones and then stick them to the paper and let them dry for awhile. After that, I decoupage a piece of vellum before I glue any sort of magnet, pin, etc. on it. I think 2 part epoxy (the syringe type) works best. I tried the E6000 that everyone talks about and I must say within 5 minutes, I was starting to get sick from the smell even with all the windows open. Yuck! Sorry I rambled on, but I hope this helps you out a little bit.

Here's a photo of a barette I recently made. I forget who suggested it, but putting a piece of fabric first really does make a difference!

I've also been a magnet whore lately. These aren't even all of the ones I have made, but they are all that fit on the back of our white trash light up beer sign. Haha.

Any comments are always welcome!! Thanks  Grin Grin Grin

105  Another handpainted bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by TrashedClothing on: August 08, 2006 09:54:47 AM
Hi everyone! I just finished this bag last night and I wanted to share it with you all.

I am doing my first major show in October and I was hoping some of you would have input as to how much I should charge for this and the others. The second photo is the other bags I posted a week or two ago. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!  Grin Grin Grin

Thanks!

107  Felt and Fleece Dolls in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by TrashedClothing on: July 27, 2006 12:54:04 PM
Hi! This is my very first post so I hope I am doing this right. Lately I've been bored and been shopping for too much fabric so I decided I should do something especially since I have the Crafty Bastards show in October. Here are the most recent creations. Please let me know what you think! Good or bad, I always like input.  Smiley
