1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Soda Chargers / CO2 chargers??? on: July 20, 2013 07:41:24 PM
We have a soda bottle and have collected many, many of the little used steel soda chargers.  Any idea what to do with them?

We have come up with --

-wind chime

-hanging .22 targets

-and I saw someone had used 3 to make a coat rack

We could really use some inspiration!   Grin

5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Halloween Swap '07 on: August 09, 2007 04:02:02 PM
I see that there is talk of a Vintage Halloween Swap, but is anyone interested in a straight up Halloween Swap?

I was at the fabric store today and they had in their Halloween prints!  So, of course I bought several pieces!

I couldn't organize this one, but would love to participate.

6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Crafting for your partner's "Likes" on: July 09, 2007 08:19:38 PM
I tried to look this up to see if there was already a thread, but didn't find one.

I have been thinking about adding this and I think I have decided that any swap I organize from now on will have something like this in the description and/or follow up email.

"Be sure to craft for your partner's likes and needs, not your own.  You may be paired with someone who likes different characters/versions/etc than you.  Also be sure to take into account their 'I have too many of/would not like to receive' answers, maybe even where they live."

Please let me know what you think of this.  Is there a better way to word this idea?

I just got done with a couple swaps where the items crafted were really nice, but the other person crafted me things based on their favorites, not mine.  Sent things that are on my 'I would not like to receive'.  One that is totally impractical for living in the tropics.  And one crafted in my 'colors you don't like'.

I hope this doesn't sound petty.  I do not want to seem ungrateful, but I just hate that these items that other people are spending time and energy on are not usable by me.  But, maybe I am the only one who has had this issue.

9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Alice in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass Swap? on: June 04, 2007 11:48:18 PM
How about an Alice in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass Swap?

Things could be crafted from the books or from the Alice in Wonderland Disney movie.

We could use quotes, poems and songs from the stories, the drawings from the books.

I can think of a jillion things I would love to craft.  Purses & bags, ATC's, wall art, jewelry, etc..

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / How do I put a picture on a candle? on: May 08, 2007 11:58:12 PM
Hi All,

If this question is in the wrong place, please let me know.  I couldn't find a board on candles. - Thanks

I am wanting to put an image on a pillar candle.  Does anyone know how to do this?

Do I just attach a jet-printed image to the candle with melted wax?

I have the idea, but no idea how to accomplish the task.

Thanks for your help!
