32  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Re: How's your Etsy shop doing now? on: August 19, 2008 08:09:27 PM
I think unfortunately your girls are completely right when it comes to graphic design services on etsy, there are too many people that have set the bar to low Sad My father is a graphic artist and I hate to see things priced so low that I know the time and effort professionals would put into.  Sad

Pricing is frustrating on etsy. I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. I just found a shop that has resin necklaces as low as $3.00....how could anything be made after etsy and paypal fees, that doesn't even factor in supplies. It's frustrating to see things like that because then it will make some people see $20 for a necklace as high. I personally spend a good amount of time on my pieces doing them in layers and finishing them after they are cured so my customers receive a quality piece.

Congrats kishcrafts! that's awesome!

I haven't been on this thread in a long time! I used to follow it all the time. I just recently re-opened my shop and have been listing my resin pendants. I had my first sale the other day after starting up again Smiley

I see a lot of you are having such good success with your shops! Any suggestions? I'm trying to get back out there and figure out how to make my shop successful this go around.
Thanks!!! Smiley

Hi girls. I used to follow this thread when I opened my shop a long time ago but then I didn't list any items on etsy for a long time so I stopped.
I've been working with resin and making pendants for a few years now and I love doing it. I decided to refocus on selling my goods and started loading my shop with pendants. I have less trouble selling at work and when people see my creations in real life. I space out my listings to try and get the most exposure. Any other suggestions? I'm trying to get my stuff out there and working for more sales.

I did just have a sale the other day for the fist time since I started listing items again!
Thanks everyone Smiley

Those look great! I saw an ice cube tray like that at urban outfitters yesterday but I think it was bigger than your pieces, yours look like a good size Smiley

I have been searching fior some bezels for AGES and haven't been able to find anything at all.

I was at Michael's today and they actually had pendant blanks I haven't seen before. There were a few different sizes!

Thanks for the comments everyone Smiley

dkany I use an espon printer mate to print my pictures. The paper is more of a lustre...I seal the photos with modge podge. I used to use 2-3 layers, but found it wasn't necessary with this paper, So now I only use 1 layer on the top of the images.
