Before christmas I made my son an apron for when he is in the kitchen with me or his dad (like every day Smiley).

Its very simple and made from a teatowel:

If the baby is not walking or standing up yet, you could definately use cotton as soles.
I guess there are other skid-free options than leather out there to use for soles for when the baby stands up.

Thanks so much for all the nice comments.

would you tell me what the hat band measurement is on the inside? i would be bummed if it didn't fit me, i'm going to use some fabric that i really like. thanks.
According to the info in the link the pattern makes a hat to fit a head with a 22.5″ circumference. The pattern pieces has 2 lines. I guess the inner line is ment as the "seam-line". I cut the pieces along the outer line, but I used my regular seam allowance rather than the one marked in the pattern. Stupid me!
You could easily measure all pattern pieces, add up (6 in all) and from there figure out what your seam allowance should be to make the perfect size for you!

Well, I just have to make another.

I used this great pattern:
http://curiouslycrafty.wordpress.com/milinery/

It came out too big for my little head, but other than that Im happy with it. It was fast and easy to make.
Im going to dinner at a friends house on saturday. I might just bring it along and see if it fits one of my friends.

I really dont know what measurements would fit a newborn. The sole in the pattern posted above is 11cm when scaled according to the reference mark.
This would fit a 3-6 month baby.

To make another size I would just measure the foot, add 2 cm + seam allowance I guess. Little feet needs room, and I think its better to make them a tad to big.

Just scale the whole pattern to the size you want on a printer/copier and the sole and top should both be in scale.

ETA: I would love to se pics If anyone makes a pair of these.
