1  I made by brothers shirt into a dress for his daugther in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by Honeypie on: February 20, 2008 03:01:11 AM
I just loved how Cheytown turned a mans shirt into a girls dress. I have been thinking of making one ever since I saw her post.

I had my brother drop of some shirts he didnt use anymore. Now, one of them has a new life as a dress for his daugther. She will be 2 on sunday, and this is her birthday gift fra the crafty aunt Smiley
Mine is a different model than Cheytowns, but the general idea is the same.

I cannot hem to save my life, but I think it turned out ok. I guess the little one wont mind the imperfections.

Thanks for looking.

Before christmas I made my son an apron for when he is in the kitchen with me or his dad (like every day Smiley).

Its very simple and made from a teatowel:

3  I made a hat :) With link to pattern in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Honeypie on: January 22, 2008 04:02:52 AM
I used this great pattern:
http://curiouslycrafty.wordpress.com/milinery/

It came out too big for my little head, but other than that Im happy with it. It was fast and easy to make.
Im going to dinner at a friends house on saturday. I might just bring it along and see if it fits one of my friends.

5  Fifties bib for the little one (with pattern link) in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by Honeypie on: January 21, 2008 03:21:13 AM
While the little one was sleeping I made a bib from a free pattern found here:
http://www.nicolemdesign.com.au/tips/index.html#bib

Here is the result.
The baby is now awake and hungry, so I got an action shot (impossible to make her smile. Too hungry I guess)

Here is the pattern for the shoes. Its really simple but I hope it can be useful anyway.
I am just posting a photo of the pattern, but put in a 1cm reference mark, so that it should be easier to scale. This size fits my 6 month old.

When sewing the top fabric an lining together i sew along the solid line on the front (with rubberband attached), and THEN cut down the middle and toward the corners. Hope that makes sense (?)

Step 2 is folding the top an lining apart (and iron flat), and then sewing the heel seem.

Step 3 is attaching the sole to the outside fabric and the sole lining to the lining fabric. I leave an opening in the lining for turning.

Made this thing to hold my undies when I travel:

9  Linen babyshoes. Now with pattern on p.3 in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by Honeypie on: January 16, 2008 01:10:09 PM
Inspired by these ber-cute babyshoes http://flickr.com/photos/catarinamadruga/page4/ I had to try to make something similar for my little girl. Not nearly as perfect as the "original" but here it goes:

Top is linen, lining is cotton and sole is suede leather. Button is painted wood.
Thanks for looking Smiley
