1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Felted bucket style hat? on: September 21, 2008 07:05:29 PM
Has anyone come across or know of a pattern for one?  I am on my 3rd attempt and when it comes to the felting, it ends up too small and I am not wasting anymore wool and by wasting I mean letting my kid play with them with her dolls.

I am working on the color bar blanket.  I have the white done as well as the navy.  Here is the issue, I don't have all the colors and a few of them seem to be discontiued.  Any suggestions of what to do?

I was so excited when I found the book at my local joanns.  I brought it right home and started cutting transfers out.  No matter what color I try to iron on to it doesn't transfer, I iron for minutes and it is so light I can barely see it.  I didn't expect this because my stitch it kit transfers in seconds perfectly.

I tried to return the book, but because I cut out stuff they wouldn't let me.

Has anyone had this problem with the transfers from the book?

This is my second project ever. it is a simple blue canvas bag, bought on clearance.
Juliet is the name of a song by my favorite band.  If the scroll was bigger it would have read Adaline.

I am fine with everything, I have even made this scarf before, but for some reason I can seem to take round 4 apart and remember it.  It is,

Rnd 4: Ch 3, * [yo and draw up a loop in next st, yo and through 2 loops on hook] 3 times, yo and through 4 loops on hook, ch 5, dc in next st, rep from * around, end with ch 5, end with sl st in beg ch.

Any advice?

I have been trying to figure out if this is possible for days and I just can't seem to make it work. Here's the deal.

I want to make a scarf that had 15 casted on, every 5th stich I want to change color and then just repeat that pattern.  The problem I have having is that they are just knitted in three seperate strips.  How do I connect them?  Is it possible?

I want to make a pair of slippers for a realtive in the hospital.  Here is the thing, she was in a coma for months and now has to go to rehab.  I need a pattern that is easy for her to put on herself.  Do you think pretty much any pattern will work?  Mary Janes are out because of the buttons.  I am just afraid of giving her something she can't use.  Opnions, comments?

I decided I needed to know how to emboss to make cards, so I borrowed some stuff and I like it, but am not very good.  I would apperciate comments and maybe tips if you have them.  I bought white scrapbooking paper, a few sheets were textured and the other were plain.  I chose white to start because I didn't want to worry about color and embossing at the same time.  I just cut the paper to size and went for it.
