1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Round 40 Gallery on: December 21, 2008 03:08:20 PM
I wanted to let everyone know I got the coolest package from Banga ever!  And she has been so patient with me.  We were having a problem with our furnace.  So I stayed like a week at a friends with no internet connection and now I am to lazy to walk back out in the blizzard to get the camera.

I got a recipie book with some yummy stuff in it.  I made honey mustard scallops for the friend we stayed with and the day after Christmas (which is Mama and kid day) I am going to make her banana foster french toast.  I even got my Gran's cheesy potato recipie to put in already.

I also received these beautiful gift tags.  They are hidden because I am going to use them as from Santa tags.  Traditionally at our house each person get a gift and a from Santa gift.  To keep them a surprise and to not let the 3 year old know we always use special paper and ribbon.  I gave my mom a couple of the tags for her Santa presents.  You have no idea how awesome I think the tags are and how special they made the gifts look.

I will bring in my camera tomorrow, I swear.  But I am just TIRED of snow.  We have gotten about 3 to 4 feet since Friday.  Between the blizzard and the lake effect snow, I am moving to Aruba.

I forgot about galleries!  I just looked at everything and I so amazed and thankful that I was allowed in this fantastic swap.  Everyone brought such beautiful things to this swap.  I don't have words enough to describe how I am feeling right now!

I haven't had a chance to test my kit out.  Between work and a wrist injury, I have been busy or all hurty.  But I look at it everyday, I know I am a nerd.

Wow.  Just Wow.

I got my package today, I was here all day and was like fe mail man, where is my mail?  At about 5:30 I run across the street to the store to get some things.  I come back and there is the package at my doorstep.  How does that work?  I am thinking my lame neighbors took it, realized they aren't cool enough and then gave it back.  But anyway, I got a super awesome book binding kit.  A pamphlet stitch and a japanese stab binding.  Okay, so here is the best part.  She put it all in a nifty carrying case.  BEST IDEA EVER!  I am super pumped to get into this.

It is Christmas time and both my good digital cameras are set up in my studio at work, so I have crappy camera pic.  The kit includes paper, the case, cord, glues, alphabet stamps (they are so tiny and cute!), needles, clips, it is perfect.  Can you tell I am rambling because I am so excited?

Please ignore my kid's boot in the last one and the sparkle paper chain I am making for the Christmas tree.

I claim Banga for a fleece U of M scarf (even though my fam would kill me if they found out I was not crafting for State!)

This is my 1st claim.

My name is Becci, I am from Michigan.  I love stars, bright (non neon) colors, swirls and blue.  I have no pets, but I do have a 4 year old.  She's pretty rad.  I am a photographer and GM of a local store, both of which I love.  I collect snowglobes and yarn.  I am pretty jeans and t shirt, hanging out at home, relaxing.  I just bought a condo, I love it.  I crochet and embroider, I make candles and papercrafts sometimes, but mostly crochet.  I had cancer and was very sick for a long time, but have fully recovered and am ready to start over!  I am not allergic to anything that would be legal to send.  Just have fun and I will be happy.  Thanks in advance to anyone who chooses me!  I don't eat candy, or snack at all.  So no treats for me please.  Also I am not a coffee drinker, but sugar free koolaide is always welcome (a girls gotta live, right?)  Any questions, PM me, I'm an open book!

Crafted Items

Knit or crocheted wrist warmers.  The kind without indivdual fingers.  Any color is fine, my coat is brown and my other coat is green apple and grey.

Artwork in any medium (except photography) for my entry way.

A cross stitch that reads, LBC is like ranch dressing.  They make everything better.

A reusable lunch bag, I bring my lunch everyday, in my purse.  My co-workers make fun of me.

Reusable shopping totes, I make my own but when someone tells me they like mine, I usually give it to them.

Legwarmers.  I would like to be able to wear them hanging around the house, so my heels are covered, but my toes aren't.  I know, weird, but I like cold toes.  Once again, any color is fine.

A crocheted or knitted tam.

A blanket with arms, has anyone else seen these?  I am not sure what they are called, but they are blanket with the top being long sleeves.  My bff wants one and I thought for xmas it would rule.  But I am not a sewer and can't figure it out.  Made of fleece, in hot pink or kelly green.

Make up bag.

Snowglobes.  I collect them, I have a lot, but I would like to have some hand crafted ones to add to the collection.

Fused glass pendant.

Felted knit bucket style hat in gray

Anything you can craft related to Army of Freshmen  (www.armyoffreshmen. com)

A recipie book with some of your favorite recipies in it!

Supplies

10 feet of yarn and/or ribbon.  Rupuzel scarves are my obsession right now.  Handspun would be amazing, but pretty much anything I will love.

Sharpies in all colors

Crochet hooks, any size, I loose them all the time.

Any yarn you don't want anymore.

Stamps, same as above, I don't need anything special.

Polymer clay.

Tea towels

Embrodiery hoops.  The kid thinks they are toys and breaks them.

Candle making supplies, wax, molds, wicks...

Any crochet books/patterns except for the Happy Hooker and 200 Crocheted Blocks.

A resin kit.

A ravelry favorites kit (I couldn't resist, whoever came up with that one is my new favorite!) http://www.ravelry.com/people/danceisthenewmosh/library/pdf

Anything from my wists.

Extras

Anything for my almost 4 year old daughter.  Used toys or clothes, she is super tall, treats.  She loves Mighty B!  Something from that would make me the best mom ever.

Awesome!  It looks hard, but maybe that is because I am afraid of sewing machines!      I can't wait to see the bag complete.

Hang on Doogie. Where'd you get that juice box and does it come in grapalicious?

I really have to think about this one.  It is so hard to say no.

All I have done is write out directions oh and make a few extra surprises.  I am hoping to do more tonight.

Do you think it would be okay if I sent UPS instead of USPS?  I can still get a tracking number.  UPS comes right to my work twice a day so it is just easier.  If not no big deal.
