1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Celtic/Nordic Themed Swap? on: November 30, 2006 05:26:12 AM
ooo...I'm so in.
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: instrument themed swap for musicians? on: November 21, 2006 02:39:18 PM
I'd be up for this.  I play pretty much everything but would prefer Bassoon stuff, with Oboe as a close second because they're harder to find things for!
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Teacher Swap on: November 15, 2006 07:23:05 PM
I'd be in and definitely interested in organizing.  We'd have to plan on sometime after Christmas.  I teach music full-time at an elementary school (the little kids are trying to drive me insane.)  I much prefer my middle/high school kiddos.  But I'm in a long-term sub position with hopes of knowing where I'll be permanently soon.

I love getting new things for my classroom!
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Barry Manilow on: November 05, 2006 12:06:19 PM
I recall being jealous of EVERYONE with the name Mandy when I was in school.  When my hubby proposed he sang "Who Needs to Dream" and then proposed in front of an audience of over 500 people.  (Middle School Spring Concert...)  I've seen Barry 3 times.

I have a lot to thank Barry for.  I got two jobs because of connections I made because of Barry.  I started playing in a community band and the president introduced herself and had a Barry shirt on and it was the start of a wonderful friendship.  I'm now her assistant bandfront instructor and I also got my temporary teaching job because of staying with the band...  And it may now be leading to a full-time permanent position.

If nothing else we could do a personal swap!  I wouldn't mind that.

I can see t-shirts and ATCs.  Posters/collages, hats, jewelry (oh what I wouldn't do for a cuff bracelet with Barry on it!)  Purses, totes, messenger bags.  Boxes, trays....

Oh, I'm so hoping we get more interest!!  I'm thinking sign-ups through maybe mid-Decemeber with sendouts mid-January/end of January.  I like ample crafting time...  Grin
5  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: November 2006 Birthday Swap - *Sign-ups for posting lists 11/1 - 11/20* on: November 04, 2006 09:29:34 PM
Hello, I'm Jolene from Pennsylvania.

I turned 23, 4 minutes ago!  (Okay, really I'm a 6:30AM baby...anyway.)  I'm married and I teach music (currently at the elementary level, but I'm hoping to get some kind of high school position very soon.)  Mostly instrumental music.  I perform in a number of ensembles.  My favorite instrument is the bassoon.  I love the Disney characters Stitch and Eeyore (and nearly all of the villains.)  I adore the color green (especially with a compliment of purple) and anything paisley (must be a November thing.)  I'm in LOVE with Ireland (and Scotland and Wales.)  My favorite animal is the ray (stingray, manta ray, skate...)  I'm a huge Mets fan.  And I love dragons.

Now for the hard part...

1.  Barry Manilow ANYTHING!!  T-shirt (L womens or S/M mens, think large chest), purse/bag, picture for my wall...absolutely ANYTHING!  I would really love some kind of Barry cuff bracelet.

2.  Disney's Stitch iPod case/cover (preferably with a clear mouth I can see through.)  I have the 30 gig video iPod.

3.  Some kind of creative swap journal.  Maybe something Harry Potter themed?  I'm a definite Slytherin.

4.  Anything of/about Ireland

5.  Tea pot...there was this awesome I saw in Ireland that had sheep on and some quote about being the black sheep.

6.  Stuffed animal...anything check my wists.  Dragons are awesome...so is Stitch or Eeyore.  Of manta rays...

7.  Some kind of reconstructed t-shirt.  Nothing too low cut (I'm a teacher...)  I'm a women's size L or a men's S or M (think large chest...)

8.  Messenger Bag A cool one with lots of pockets for things.  I carry LOTS of stuff all the time.

9.  Things for costumes.  I'm in a Renaissance group.  Anything I could add to a costume would be cool.  I also do theatre so any random costume findings are fun!

10.  Anything to do with music or instruments.  I can always use boxes of varying sizes and bags.

11.  Check my wists...there's some stuff on there...

12.  An ATC tarot deck (or at least the major arcana)  possibly celtic themed?

13.  Beads--any sizes, any kind, any color

14.  Felting DIY kit

15.  Cooking/backing/candy making accesories...

16.  Needle roll for my knitting stuff...

17.  A surprise!  I love everything.  Surprises are great!

Thank you in advance.  Things have been really rough for me lately (school students, work, computer dying and wiping out my iPod before it went, my hubby being away for my bday, traffic, general depression.)  But I've definitely been looking forward to this!
6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Barry Manilow on: November 04, 2006 05:42:15 PM
I don't know if there are any other "Fanilows" in here or not.  I'm wondering if there would be any interest in a Barry Manilow swap.  I've loved him forever (okay, since I was 4 and yes I"m only 23, but still!)

There are SO many cool things we could do with this one!  I'm just thinking with the release of his new cd and all.  I'd be up for organizing (I've been dying to organize something.)  It would only be fitting that it be Barry (my hubby proposed with a Barry song!)

Let's get some Fanilow crafting love going!
7  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Hogwarts At Christmas!/Plain Old HP Swap(SIGN UPS 10/9-10/25, SEND OUT BY 11/30) on: October 18, 2006 05:21:33 PM
I'm so totally excited for this swap.  My hubby and I moved into our house last October and Christmas was kind of sparse.  I was finishing up my last year of college and we did Christmas as well as we could.  But now I'm home and am really in need of all kinds of decorations.  So I'm all kinds of excited for this swap!
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing ATC v2.0 Gallery! on: October 18, 2006 05:17:06 PM
I just wanted to say I absolutely ADORE all of the cards I've received and tons of the ones posted.  My computer hates me AND my camera (even my scanner is hated by my computer.)  I'm still in the process of getting things posted.  I took the pictures, but my computer doesn't like them apparently...  But I just really wanted to say I love everything I got.  They're all amazing!!!!
9  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Re: HP fans input requested- turning house into shreiking shack for halloween! on: September 24, 2006 01:23:16 PM
Sure it is and maybe you could put some real fur on it, too.  Just to give it a more real look.  Most decoys are just plastic.
