51  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / A couple converse questions on: August 20, 2007 09:01:07 AM
Ok, this one doesn't have any thing to do with reconstruction: I have this amazing pair of lime green converse that are in desperate need of cleaning, I threw them through the washer but they still look gross, is there anyother way to clean them?

My second question is that I have a pair of pink converse that I want to bleach white, will bleach work? Or should I just buy a new pair of converse?

My last question (I must be getting annoying now, apologies) is that I want to paint a pair of my old shoes, I've used sharpie before but I'm looking for something more permanent. Will acrylics work? Do I have to use some kind of sealer on the shoe?

Thank you! Your help is much appriciated :)
52  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / 2 paintings on: August 18, 2007 03:47:03 PM
Neither of these turned out as I was imagining they would. The Zombie-ish looking arms one actually came out really bad, I'm finished with it for now, I'm thinking about adding more dripping layers because I can't figure out a way to make it look any better >.<

I'm not overly pleased by this painting. I'm just happy I finally finished it.

This one is total crap. I'm really upset with it >.<

Oh. If you are a regular on deviantart you might see me lurking on your page as lights-and-sounds
I have a gallery there, mostly the same stuff I post here. Not all of my art makes it here though.
Thank you for looking!
53  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / For those days I feel like dressing like a rainbow (Image heavy-ish) on: August 16, 2007 10:04:48 AM
This belongs on this board I swear! You'll see why in two seconds Smiley
Anyway, I have a whole bunch of scrap buttons from all kinds of projects my Nana had and she gave the remainders to me. Some of the buttons came off pants that don't fit anymore and the safety pins are from my safetypin collection. The ring is old and it was in my Jewlrey box waiting for a use.

Now I'm pretty proud of it Smiley I know the buttons are kinda hard to see in this pic. But I'm obviously wearing it as a belt.

This is a pic of the whole belt and all of the buttons I used.

And wow! Another use for this baby Smiley A necklace, which it was origionally supposed to be before I decided it made a better belt. Forgive my facial expression, I'm not really grumpy at all, I swear.

And then you know those Hello Kitty toys in McDonalds right now? I couldn't resist getting them because I adore Hello Kitty. But the toys didn't really have much use so I tore everything apart and made them into buttons and magnets.

There are plastic cases that had these giant kitty heads on too, I took the head apart and I'm going to make a large magnet with that too but I didn't take pictures yet.

Thank you for looking! Have a wonderful day!

54  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Back to school stuff anyone? on: August 06, 2007 12:43:35 PM
As unhappy as I am to return to school (Even though I'm a senior this year) I still need clothing to wear. I have vowed to make several items that I would be proud to wear to school, one of these fall into that category.

This technically isn't a reconstruction, in belongs in the other board but my computer keeps crapping out on me so it's gonna go here. It's this really cute fabric I found at my Nana's house. The skirt was supposed to have three uneven layers, but it looks like I made it a skirt by accident. I didn't really like it after it was finished, and it's a little too "cute" for my style anyway. I think I'm gonna tear it apart and use the fabric for something else.

Like a newbie I totally forgot to take before pictures, whoops! I know how we all hate it when someone does that, apologies :) Anyway, it was two seperate skirts that were both too short on my Aunt she gave them to me to make patches or something. Instead I connected them together and made a longer skirt with two layers.

This also isn't totally a reconstruction either, the waist band I used was one of my little sisters old shirts I just folded it over and sewed the tulle onto it. (four layers) I was forbidden to wear this to school by my freshman step sister. I think I'm going to forget that she did that, I loves this tutu. :)
I'm having a bad face day. Actually, in general I'm just not very photogenic.

I also had a pair of shorts that I made but of course I can't find them anywhere because I need them. So I'll have to put them in my next post.
55  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / My Obsession on: July 07, 2007 10:22:35 AM
Anyway, my scanner is a POS and it cut off half of the painting and screwed with the colors (Not very much this time thankfully) You can see it in the orange, the light orange is way lighter than in the real picture. The blue is darker, splotchier and more noticable around my nose and chin than it is in real life.
Now that Im finished with defending my picture you get the reason why its considered obsession Music is my healthy obsession, and so are colors. There you go Smiley

56  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Most people give cards on: June 17, 2007 06:51:15 PM
So it's my best friends sister's birthday tomorrow and I wanted to make her something cute, as this craftster is broke.
Well I had wanted to give her a felted ice cream cone, or sushi rolls something cute but I didn't have pink felt, or any other nice color. It seems the only felt colors I have left were yellow and red. What the heck can you make with those? I settled for ketchup.

I give you ketchup:

As if she didn't think I were weird enough as it is.  I was going to make her a mustard bottle too, and put more detail on the bottle.   Naturally I waited until the last minute to do anything and the gift needs to be ready by tomorrow. Oops!

So, does it look more like a chew toy than a stuffie? Would you have a ketchup bottle in your bed? I'm thinking about making more but I don't know if I want to make them with faces or anything. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
57  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Bang! A watercolor :) on: June 10, 2007 11:54:59 AM
Now, the background to this picture is lime green and the clouds are actually a blue/gray not a light blue. The stars are much lighter too. I dont know why my scanner sucks so bad.
58  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / another shirt recon on: June 04, 2007 06:29:41 PM
This shirt recon was fairly easy, I don't ever do shirt recons so it had to be easy Smiley

I took a much too large, ill fitting shirt

and made it nice fit in my size

Sorry, no action shots ^.^
59  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Good things come to those who keep everything. on: June 04, 2007 06:08:51 PM
My step mom gave me a bunch of her old shirts that she didn't want anymore.  I had originally decided to go with a safe plan, make them into skirts, this is something that I won't screw up on Smiley At the last minute I decided to resize one of her shirts to fit me, yay first shirt to shirt recon!!
Anyway, I had my JM shirt that was too small (I was in total denial about my size when I bought it) I cut up a much too small JM shirt *sniff* into hearts and then hand sewed it onto the reconstructed shirt.
It took me only five minutes to reconstruct the big blue shirt, it took me several hours to sew all of the hearts because I suck at life.
I plan on making hand warmers? out of the left over blue material as I don't have enough for full out arm warmers.

The much too small JM shirt

Me, in my shirt. Huzzah! This is my first time using the timer, I was tired of doing the bathroom mirror myspace poses. Forgive my weird pose.

Finally!! The close up of those stupid hearts
60  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / A little weird, but I enjoy it :p on: June 03, 2007 11:41:31 AM
I take spoons, forks and knifes from random places I eat at. Then I color them and tape them to the inside of my friends locker. Since school is out for the summer I got most of my "creations" back (most of them dissapeared) Thought I'd share.

These are my favorites out of the ones I have left

and this is the starry night, but you can't really see it well because my camera hates me.
