11  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 64 ENTRIES / Button Dandelion on: July 07, 2011 08:45:27 AM
I have had an incredible obsession with dandelions lately. I also have alot of buttons. So I combined the two Smiley
On my canvas I half painted and used tissue paper to glue it to the canvas. I really liked the texture it put on the canvas. I used glitter glue to glue it down and it seems to be holding up well but the glitter isn't really picking up on the pictures. Over all I used tissue paper, paint, glue and buttons

The glitter showed up best on this shot you can also see some of the texture the tissue paper let

12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / DEconstructed Zombie shirt IMAGE HEAVY on: May 11, 2011 08:00:38 PM
So for my graphic design class this semester we had to create a magazine, I chose to do mine on Zombies and created an article of my own on how to create a Zombie shirt for a zombie crawl or something similar. I figured since I already have it made and on the computer why not share it on craftster? If you are interested of course Smiley

I have no idea who this guy is, my professor asked him to pose for this picture, I had a picture of my boyfriend but she thought this guy looked scarier? I don't know I think he just looks confused...

Also I would like to know that these man hands are NOT mine, they are my boyfriends, I couldn't hold the project and take pics at the same time.

*slight warning*
Now this is straight up taken from the magazine I created for class so please please DO NOT use these images without my permission, I am planning to put my magazine in my design portfolio and it would really suck if someone accused me of stealing my own images. otherwise enjoy! Smiley

I also realized that the shirt the guy at the top is wearing is not the same shirt as in the tute, I created two shirts.
This is the shirt, ignore my messy room I haven't yet unpacked my things since I moved back from college.

Thanks for looking and I hope this small tute may have helped. It's pretty easy and is a pretty easy and cheap costume for Halloween or last minute costume party

Details of swap:

Do you love getting mail but are sick of getting the same old plain white envelopes? Want a low stress swap and love to doodle? This swap is all about brightening someone's mailbox by sending them a piece of mailable art!

In this swap there are two options: Decorating an envelope and filling it with another piece of art.
OR
sending two decorated postcards to your swap partner This swap is intended to be low stress, cheap, fun short and sweet! You really can have it all! Cheesy

The Fine Print:
1. Good communication is very important! You must take responsibility and PM your partner AND the swap organizer when you send AND receive your mail.
2. Because the envelopes do not qualify for DCNs No DCNs will be required for this swap but you MUST agree to resend to your partner after two weeks from the official send out date if the postcard is not received.
3. Even though this mail is about art and art can have any kind of aesthetic send out art that you would love to receive yourself.
4. Everyone who signs up for the swap must post in this thread!
5. You are required to scan or take a picture of what your partner sent you and post it in the gallery, if this is not possible LET ME KNOW so I can partner you with someone who is wiling to post pictures for you!
6. Because this is my first time organizing a swap I am limiting it to 25 people, I don't think we will have that many but I am stating it in the details anyway Smiley

15  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / letter/postcard art? on: March 28, 2011 05:26:09 PM
I was thinking a swap where we could either mail postcards or letters with the envelopes decorated with a small piece of art on the inside? This WOULD NOT be a postsecret swap but it would be set up very similarly.
I was thinking about having it pretty low stress with no DC #s but sending out again if the letter/postcard doesn't come within two weeks.
Would anybody be interested in this? I've never organized a swap before but I'd really love to be able to send someone some small art and make them smile Smiley
16  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / happy green mobile on: January 25, 2011 02:02:46 PM
Hello papercrafts board! I don't visit here very often Smiley

I've been crafting to relieve some stress. Here's a baby mini rant to further relieve my stress, just a lil' Smiley

Sooooo basically my suitemates and I USED to be best friends until a few months ago then they decided to stop talking to me at all and didn't hang out with me even when I asked they made pretty lame excuses or lied to my face. And they repeatedly ignore my texts and facebook messages Soooooo basically I'm tired of sitting out in my common room and getting evil glares from these girls I've decided I don't want to be friends with girls who obviously don't want to be friends with me when I do have people who want to hang out with me.
END of baby mini rant Smiley

Anyway. I've been crafting alot to relieve stress and make my room prettier because I've been spending more and more time in here because I hate being in my living room with these who give me death glares every time they pass me.
I stare at this guy for ever and it was so easy to make! And it makes me sooooo happy. It's not really a mobile but it's nice.

17  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / First bleached shirt and I think it's a WIN!! on: August 18, 2010 11:07:11 AM
Okay, there's a 'lil back story to this. I picked up a book at the dollar store a few years ago, it looked entertaining for sure, It's called The Astrology Gift Guide, are you familiar with it? You should be, it's ridiculously inspiring! The lady that wrote this probably had intended it to be serious buuuuuut her suggestions are so ludicrous I just have to laugh.
I'm trying to knock out all of my Christmas gifts now because I've been a procrastinator every year and find myself finishing/wrapping gifts day of. So, I decided to start on my BF's Christmas gift. But I was stuck! When I found my Astrology gift guide I knew exactly what I was going to get/make for my wonderfully Aquarius man Smiley

A giraffe t shirt!

you see in the book, it says that Aquarius's love gifts that are useful and a supply of colorful T shirts would be great!

My BF and I have a running joke about giraffes so it made me die of laughter when I saw one of the gift suggestions was "wild animal prints"

Craft wise this was my first time bleaching a shirt, it came out a little spotty, but I'm okay with it. I also over sprayed and you can see a bit of the outline of the freezer paper but it happens.

It also mentions they like distinctive hats

so I got 'em one of these guys too (don't worry, I didn't buy it it was free!) I think I"m going to decorate it, but I'm not sure how yet and I'm open to suggestions Cheesy

In case you are wondering what some suggestions were for Aquarius ladies I found these to be just as entertaining

So as it turns out finding a great gift is as easy as knowing someone's birthday! Or something like that haha Thanks for looking! Smiley

18  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / door hangers on: August 16, 2010 08:43:22 AM
I started off doodling in my (rare) spare time and I decided to make some name tag door hangers for my suitemates, I tried to make them colors and patterns they would like but I'm thinking about re-doing mary's because I'm not sure if she would like hers.

So eh, I hope they like 'em Smiley Thanks for looking!
19  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / gladiator like flip flop revamp on: August 01, 2010 05:15:48 PM
I have been wisting some gladiator sandals for pretty much ever. However, lately I've been trying to save some serious cash for art supplies, school books and food when I go back to University.
Being a college student sucks sometimes! Though, it inspired me to be thrifty and try to make my own sandals out of some scraps of leather like material I got in a free bag of scrap material.
If these look totally dorky my back up plan is to wait until fall when the sandals I want go on sale then I'm gonna buy 'em cheap Smiley

It's weird taking pictures of your feet, it's also makes me incredibly self conscious haha

CandC welcome, thanks for looking Smiley
20  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Experimenting on: July 23, 2010 08:38:27 PM
I was trying to make a series of mini paintings, but they ended up just being mini experiments with acrylic paint and markers.
Oh well, next time I guess, I still have a month left before I go back to school Smiley

This one didn't scan so I tried piecing it together in photoshop but the colors came out a little strange.

This one I probably liked most:

c and c most welcome Smiley
