only down side about the scarf is how incredibly quick it is to make! Wink

294  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / 1 bag 1 inchworm 1 scarf on: July 12, 2006 01:40:26 AM

a bag i made for a friend, because I wanted to use up some purple yarn and she loves purple. Rough pattern from happy hooker

a  close up of the image

my first completed (ie stuffed an sewn together) amigurumi. Used a 5.5mm hook which is really too big, as you can see the stuffing on the bendy bits, but I need to order some easygrip smaller hooks before I give my fav hook a break. The Inchworm is a Megan Granholm pattern.

The first thing I made when my happy hooker book came through, with some gorgeous wool that my gran, spun and dyed! Scuse the cheesy grin!

awwwwwwww she is adorable!

might have to try making a body with neck now that I've made an inchworm and realised how to do "bends".

297  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: finished projects, what do you do? on: July 11, 2006 12:51:26 AM
Smiley Thank you for your suggestions so far... Yes, giving them away does sound like a funky thing to do.

With the beanies I plan to sell them at cost of the wool to my sisters snowboarding friends Wink

rockwaterfalls, i took some pics last night! Shall post some up soon!
298  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / finished projects, what do you do? on: July 10, 2006 09:32:22 AM

found this forum when I was checking out amigurumi projects-WOW some of the stuff is truly amazing!

I recently picked up a crochet hook and have started a real love affair with making things.

So far I've made several beanie hats, a scarf, a bag and a few amigurumi thing a me bobs Wink

Question is: What do YOU do with your finished projects, especially amigirumis as clutter is a bug bear of mine lol (nice stuff, yes, but tonnes of stuf, no!)
Scarves, hats and bags make funky presents, but friends and family will get bored soon, I know!!
Amigurumis: I started these as a niece/nephew is on the way, but then I thought, would they even be suitable for kiddies? I've seen people mention using the little amis as cat toys. Again any tips on what yarns are suitable/not. One plan for my amigirumis is to weigh them down with say a fishing weight and use them as doorstops, or giving some away as "pin cushions" (not that i know of any sewers!)

Anyway, post away with your ideas Smiley

edited to add the clutter bit-oops i'd forget my head if it weren't attached!)
