AWKWARD FACE FOR THE WIN!

and just for you folks the very unflattering action shot that you can only see part of the skirt in:





I wanted something classic, cute, sexy and jolly to wear to the little shindig I was hosting and decided to make myself a skirt. Sadly I never finished the suspenders but still love skirt. I used Anna Maria Horner Innocent Crush (Quilt Cotton) Woodcut Passion for the exterior & Anna Maria Horner Innocent Crush (Voile) in a light pink colorway. Both of these I got from http://www.fabricworm.com/

I sewn this baby up in one night. However, the lining isn't the....most beautifully sewn, it does the job well. It's all hold up rather well in the washer, which is a great relief to me. I get tons of compliments on it as well. I got the pattern from www.Burdastyle.com . It's a print at home pattern. It's called Jenny Variation C - which is the suspenders I never made...haha. One day.

I was curious if y'all have checked out the newer fabric store in Paso Robles? It's on 13th st by Chubby Chandlers downtown.

It's pretty awesome. They have tons of quilting cotton there. Tons of modern fabrics & a whole section of Japanese imports. Plus the amount of oil cloth was almost sinful. It's pretty neat.

The girls there are so nice. Usually seem really busy, but willing to help you out. Just thought y'all would be interested.

The other day I was traveling to meet some of his family. It only took me the day to make it, which is good for me. It's a double ribbed beanie that I called "double up on the rib, extra slouch on top. Please"

I've got directions on how to make it on my blog. I'm pretty stoked on this since it is my first pattern I ever put online. Thought I'd share it with y'all. Here it is:






Double up the rib, extra slouch on top. Please.

Needle: US8 / 5.0mm

Yarn: Bulky 12ply – Spud & Chloe Outer in Soapstone

Gauge: 12st x 18rw = 4″ st st

 

I use some kind of typical long tail cast on. I am one of those knitters who just uses 1 general cast on for most things. Probably not the most strategic, but aye, what can I say?

Cast on 60 sts.

Row 1: *K2, P2 -repeat from star…as in do an awesome 2×2 rib.

Row 2:  *P2, K2 – Repeat from star, I know, totally surprising.

Repeat these 2 rows for about 4.5″.

Once you get to a stopping point (the end of the brim) it’s time for the fun Stockinette stitch.

Row3: Knit all.

Row4: Purl all.

I do recommend to slip the first stitch of each row to make for a smoother side for hemming.

Repeat for about 2.5″ Time to decrease.

Row 5: *K8, K2tog – Repeat all the way through

Row 6: Purl.

(for all even/wrong side rows you will purl)

Row 7: K7, K2tog

Row 9: K6, K2tog

Row 11: K5, K2tog

Row 13: K4, K2tog

….I’m sure you are seeing a pattern now.

Row 15: K3, K2tog  - Row 17: K2, K2tog – Row 19: K1, K2tog

ALMOST THERE!

Row 21: K2tog all stitches, leaving 6 on needle.

Cut a long tail for weaving about 3 times the length of the hat. Run the end through the remaining stitches. Now use the rest of the end to hem the hat together. I do this with the wrong side facing me. Now I am going to admit I am not to good at this, I always seem to jack it up somehow and one side is higher. I hope, you have more patience than me. Haha.

Now since I used a Cotton blend, the hat is a bit stiff. I would recommend using a larger needle 1-2 sizes larger after the brim to give it more of a relaxed slouch. I would love to see your finished hats! This pattern is now available on Ravelry if you would like to “cast on” there.

As a warning, this pattern has not been test knit. So please, please, please feel free to tell me if there’s any information is wrong. Hope you enjoy this pattern well!

Definately something to check out especially if you're trying to escape from the traditional fabric designs.

I decided to make some stencilled shorts for the concert tomorrow. Were gonna see Throwdown, yay. Well, heres the finish product.





Many layers of white acrylic paint with fabic medium on green russell sport shorts. Freezer paper for stencil.

MY dad is suppose to buy me/pay for a sewing machine for me next week or so, but til them i have to hand sew everything. This took me a few nights, spending a lil time on it each time. The fabric is a random fabric remnant at Walmart, and when i can, im gonna add a zipper so im not so scared to put it on and off. I also designed the stencil myself, which im sellin gon my etsy store [not this shirt, but normal tees with the same design, hehe.] Well, enough gabbin, here it is!

ANYWAYS! I definately wanted one of these shirts the DAY i saw one in Delias i think. Im planning on making more. Yay.

The very top is a lil loose, and thin, so ill add the zipper, maybe some elastic? and another layer under so its wearable outside. Im so happy with it!

I called my dad about getting a sewing machine the other day. i wanted him to send me mine thats in cali (i moved to ATL last year) and, well he said that hell jsut buy me a new one. YAY.

IM THINKING OF GETTING THE SINGER SIMPLE. Any suggestions?

A: No i didnt make the belt. I bought it tonight at the show in ATL.

B: I kept the buttons that were there from the pockets that i took off. Also those strings things, i just folded into the hem (sewing them in first of course) for decoration.

[One of my FAVORITE bands that i get to see live August 2nd <33]

So i got these REALLY ugly shoes at payless one day..well..at the time i thought they were cute, mostly for the heel on them. BUT alas, they were gold (i dont really like gold, and have NOTHING that matches with gold) So i decided to have some fun and paint them. First i started with white..that didnt work, washed them, ripped some of the stuff off with the help of the handy xacto knife, and painted them black with the cursive writing "fear before the march of flames" (One of my FAVORITE bands that i get to see live August 2nd <33)

Sorry if i cant spell tonight. hehe.
WELL. I had these cute target jeans, that i was dancing in, and ripped a HUGE hole in the butt, you know the dip thing..yeah, typical, i know. Well i liked the jeans, and new oneday i would do something with them. THey were gonna be a mini, but i changed my mind..then they were gonna be capris, but it just didnt look right, then BAM, i knew. BERMUDA SHORTS..Ive wanted a pair for a while. So i cut and hand sewed everything [no sewing machine]. The huge hole in the butt has been sewed 438920483 times, so itll never rip again, then i sewed on 2 lil buttons where the main seems cross on the butt. I then took off the label, and made my own. Im excited:




mhmmm look at those sexxy sexy legs. ..  . Haha.

close up/detail. Thats right, all by hand. Its pink and white thread that i like double layered on the needle. The flash took some of the pink color.
