Finally done! I am so excited, it came out perfectly, it's blocking right now and as soon as I figure out how to resize my photos (oy!) I'll post the pics.
I've made several pairs of fetching (one fore myself and then everyone at work just had to have a pair, but at least my holiday gifts are done for the gals at work!). I use worsted weight baby alpaca on size 4 dbl points, it makes a nice tight fit that still stretches to fit the average size hand, but I do add a couple of rounds before and after the thumb so that they will be long enough (3 rnds before the thumb and two after). Hope that helps.
That is awesome! As soon as I saw it I thought "those would make fab mittens!" I think I'm going to have to spin off of your dead fish! Also, I'm thinking that two larger ones would make great coasters to put under my kitty's food and water dish.
That is awesome! I have a bunch of questions! What yarn did you use? What are the finished measurements? Would you be willing to share your modifications? By any chance is a tutorial in the works?
That is just too cute for words, your friend is very lucky!
When I did it, I did the pattern on both sides, the way that I looked at it, If you are going to carry the yarn anyway, you might as well put the pattern in. What colors are you using? Good luck, I can't wait to see pictures!
Yes, they are based on the skulls from baby's first tattoo, I believe the head portion is smaller and the crossbones stick out farther. The first one I made I used the pattern and adjusted it to my liking and the size I needed and I've been using the altered patter since, I will have to go back and see what the exact differences are.
This is one of my favorite hat petterns. The picture isn't the best, the color is a dark brown and cream and the skull pattern repeats all the way around. Hope you all like it!
