seriously, he needs a name that's a little less risque.

anyways, without further ado, here is my six-legged octupus. or rather, my sextapus (haHA. yes, i'm rather immature :p

in all his aquatic glory on top of my desktop

the signature k-la stuffie button-eyes and safetypin-mouth

his underside. he clearly feels like he's been violated.

aand a shot of him on my strange head just for size reference.
AHHH! HE"S SUCKING MY BRAINS!!!

loosely based on some tut or another, although he grew to gargantuan size. if it looks like its yours, let me know so i can give you credit!

i was in a stash-busting frenzy, and found this odd rope-like yarn. so what to do but make one of those sailor-esque bracelets i've been seeing near the registers in hip clothing stores?

whipped it up in about five minutes while waiting for gas

i simply made a chain of about 20, did one row of treble stich into it, and finished off the top with slip stich. SO simple! ha mabs ill make a bunch and sell em - take that, urban outfitters!

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Hooray for MLK! - Tuxedo Dress, cardigans, legwarmers, armwarmers on: January 21, 2008 02:07:15 PM
thank you, martin luther king, jr., for giving me a rare free monday!  i sewed up a storm before going to the doctor to get the frankenfinger (smashed it in a car door) checked out.

from a giant purple faded tshirt, i give you the slightly-behind on the trend tuxedo dress!

from a hideously huge grandma sweater comes a smaller cardigan, ankle warmers, and wristwarmers (ignore the frankenfinger. it looks a lot better now)

i stole this thin v-nech sweater from mi madre. i HATE v-necks.  so i made it into a slouchy, button-less cardigan.  i sewed squiggly lines on the edge where the buttons should be, giving it a crinkled edge.

my tall friend gave me a shrunken (on her) sweater that i turned into a cute.... thing. it needs a name.  but i love it, along with its legwarmers from the sleeves.

thanks all, esp. mlk! peace, ma brothuh.

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: just a skirt on: September 18, 2007 06:12:50 PM
it is never "just" a skirt - its an adorable, versitile peice of clothing that i would seriously consider keeping for myself.  to bad for the bf  Wink
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: bright striped skirt on: September 04, 2007 07:07:14 PM
i also had those sheets! i'm not brave enough to cut up the actual sheets, but i did make a similar skirt out of a pillocase(i took the seams out and arranged it so the stripes were horizontal, sewed on a waistband, and ended up with a cute full skirt!)  i love your version!
