11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / ATC & Ephemera Scavenger Hunt Swap? on: March 06, 2007 09:09:05 PM
So after about a gazillion swap ideas for my first coordinating gig, I've finally decided I'd like to do this.... if you guys are interested, that is. Wink

The idea is pretty simple. I would limit sign ups to 25 participants, and each would send in a list of 4 themes/items with their sign up questionnaire. Then when the 'master' list of scavenger items is posted, you send your partner an ATC, ephemera, or doodad with as many themes from the list as you can. Limiting the swap to 25 people means our scavenging list would be 100 themes/items. Seeing as paper and ATCs themselves don't weigh a whole lot, I don't think we'd be breaking the bank to send. I think everyone could get by sending an A4/letter size envelope. Smiley

I was also thinking of offering prizes to the person who includes items for all 100 themes, and to the person who includes the most themes in one ATC or piece of ephemera. That would mean the scavenger items  would have to be carefully photographed, so everyone would know it contained all 100 themes/most themes. The regular scavenger hunt swaps offered prizes and I rather like the idea. I was thinking of small things, like a couple of sharpies, some extra ephemera, maybe an ink pad. Suggestions for this welcome, too. (If there were a tie, I'd just send prizes to both.)
No prizes, just fun! Simplifying my first coordinating gig to make my life a lil' easier. Wink

I was thinking sign ups could be the last week of March (25-31), with a tentative send out of April 23rd, giving us a little over three whole weeks to gather things. I'm totally open to suggestions and changes, though. Wink

Let me know what you think!

ETA: You can use more than one theme for a single ATC. Wink
And one more thing... if ATCs aren't your thing, but you still like ephemera, you can join too. There are no minimums on how many ATCs you might make for this swap. Whatever moves you to make one is great.
You don't have to make any ATCs! Join if you like paper/ephemera!
12  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 17 ENTRIES / The Lady or the Tiger Clock on: February 26, 2007 10:26:03 PM

This is my entry, and first revamped clock! I bought a small wind up clock from Wal-Mart; it's about 5" across the widest point. I think it looks a little like a side view mirror on an old car. Smiley  The woman, her dress, and her hair are magazine/catalog pieces. The 'hem' of the dress is torn like that on purpose. Wink  The two numbers and the fan are stickers. The background I made in Word and printed on regular paper. The clock works, but it ticks audibly, which makes me feel like there's a neverending egg timer on. Tongue  So I probably won't be using it.... Hope you guys like it! As always, comments rock! Grin
13  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Cute Beaver Hat! (in the nick of time!!!) on: February 24, 2007 08:55:39 PM
Here it is! A cute beaver hat! It has four legs and a tail, which means warm ears and back of the neck! (Modeled by my roomie.)

14  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Subversive Sayings ATCs? on: February 08, 2007 09:26:25 AM
This idea came from this thread. I just wanted to know if people would be interested in swapping these types of cards. Smiley  I would!
15  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Love in the margins on: February 06, 2007 01:38:35 PM

On the left it says "Ms. Captain Jack Sparrow" and "Ms. Raina Sparrow."  Tongue  I had the idea to replicate all those love doodles I did in middle and high school for this challenge. Since I don't have a Valentine at the moment, I went with Jack. Grin  I printed out a graphic of white notebook paper (I know that's weird), and doodled on it with a regular ink pen. Then I took a photo of it, cropped it down to ATC size, and played around with color and a colored pencil feature. I hope you like it!

Here's the whole page. It's roughly 8x5". And another thing I did with this while playing around with a 'spotlight' and color.

I'm goofily proud of my rum bottle and black pearl. Cheesy
16  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / The alien's staring at me! [crocheted purse] on: January 04, 2007 12:08:12 AM
I made this tonight. I think he's cute, but he stares too much. Wink  The eyes were, uh, done as best I could with lots of slip stitches. They aren't perfectly symmetrical, but whose are, right? Grin
[Tell me if this doesn't count as an 'object' please.]

I love replies!
17  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Now I can go to the singles SOCK hop! 2 pics on: December 31, 2006 09:17:07 PM
I crocheted my very first sock tonight--on my birthday no less! I'm SO excited to share! Grin  So far it's just the one... thus the singles sock hop. Roll Eyes  Tongue

I used this pattern to close up the heel, but the rest was just winged. Comments appreciated! Smiley
18  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Question about digital ATCs on: December 29, 2006 04:34:00 PM
First off, I'd like everyone's opinions on them. Yea or nay. Pros and cons.

Secondly, I'd like to know what programs the craftsters who make and love them use to create them. I'm interested in trying it, but don't know where to start since I don't have photoshop... Any help in that area would be great! Also any printing tips for these would be helpful also.

Thanks! Smiley
19  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / January card-a-day club chatter on: December 19, 2006 09:39:27 PM
No one wants Sunday. Grin
20  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / The Empress (Tarot) on: December 09, 2006 10:48:49 PM
In the midst of making ATCs for swaps and the December challenge... I started this card, thinking it was going to be something else. She finally told me she wanted to be The Empress (for a Tarot deck). I'm in the second round of the Tarot swap, but I missed the first round when everyone swapped Empresses. I'm still debating whether I want to swap her or keep her for myself. Tongue  She's my #23. Oh, and it's not digital.
