1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Chenille Chain Scarf on: April 03, 2009 08:18:10 PM
I actually finished something! The only reason is this scarf took two evenings to complete; roughly 4-5 hours total. I saw something similar on etsy and thought it'd be super cushy and warm in chenille. Yeah, I know, it's spring. Wink  I think I'm going to make another in a lighter weight yarn, too.

action!

Oh yeah, it's LB thick 'n quick chenille in antique white and I used an N/10mm hook. The yarn calls for a size P/15mm, but I can't find mine. Let me know what you guys think!

3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Lining an Altoid Tin? on: May 13, 2007 12:11:51 AM
I'd like to line the inside of one my stashed altoid tins with craft felt. What's the best way to do this? And what type of glue should I use?

I did a search but I didn't find any info on the lining. Hope this hasn't been posted somewhere! Thanks for any help! Smiley

Details of swap:
...Each person will have a secret partner in which they will stalk around craftster and other possible areas like blogs, wists, websites--wherever you can find info about your person. Revealing yourself to your partner is not allowed until after you have sent your items. In other words, PMing them to ask what they want is not allowed. You have to play detective!

Example:
Bob finds that his secret partner is Sue. He goes around craftster, finding all the bits of info about sue that he can...reading her profile, her old posts...seeing what types of things shes into. He then goes out and gets her a crafty knitting kit because he noticed her love of knitting, and he also made her a Jordy bag because he saw that she didn't know how to sew but that she loved those bags. He may also throw in a delicious organic chocolate bar because she loves chocolate oh so much. Now, we could get really carried away with this, so let's say we can send whatever our hearts desire.

You will send out 1 large item, 1 medium and 1 small (or 2 medium and 4 small items, and so on). You can communicate through someone else if you want to spoil each other but do not ask questions about anything that isn't about sending more or maybe a bit less. But you could always spoil your partner of course!

You will PM me (raina.storms) when you ship and Selise when you receive.

You are in a need of a wists and at least 75 posts on craftster. Make sure you have posts where people can find things about you and not posts that say I did this for etsy!

6  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Never too early to plan Halloween costumes, riiight?!?! Advice/Opinions! on: April 08, 2007 03:22:32 PM
So this year, I'm thinking of being a mummy. Similar to this... (but not as many slashey holes Wink)

My question is, if I do this, what shoes should I wear? I really detest white heels, so that's out. I'd like to be fairly comfortable, too. Do you think white flip flops would look cheesey/stupid? Any ideas would be great! Thanks! Smiley

PS--I don't have to worry about warmth. Wink
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Total Newb--NEVER sewn anything but buttons--Question on: April 02, 2007 11:34:33 AM
Ooookay! I bought a bag pattern, fabric, interfacing, and velcro strips. I'm pretty sure the very first thing I do is iron my fabric and pattern, yes? Then cut them out together? Or do I iron on the interfacing first? I just wasn't sure which came first ironing the interfacing or the cutting. And... at what point do I pin and unpin? Is the pinning just during the cutting phase? I'm big into steps. Wink Grin

Thanks for any help! Smiley
8  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / ATC & Ephemera Scavenger Hunt (SIGNUPS CLOSED ; MAIL BY 4/23/07). on: March 25, 2007 02:35:10 PM

Details of swap:
Borrowing the easy to understand words of Kaos, this is how this swap will work.
1. Everyone sends in a list of four themes along with your questionairre.
2. 4 themes x 24 participants = a 96 theme list
3. Partners are assigned
4. The goal is to find ephemera and/or make ATCs using all 100 themes...in any combination...meani ng you could send one ATC with all 100 themes on it OR 99 pieces of ephemera + 1 ATC to cover the 100 themes OR 50/50 OR 60/40 OR etc, etc, etc. So the idea is send as many of the 100 themes as you can to your partner.

If ATCs aren't your thing, but you still like ephemera, you can join too. There are no minimums on how many ATCs you might make for this swap. Whatever moves you to make one is great. You don't have to make any ATCs! Join if you like paper/ephemera!

Themes can be anything. Pink, ribbon, travel, sushi, tiger, alarm clock, and claustrophobia are all themes. Wink

10  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Address Book recon... before and after! on: March 20, 2007 08:45:20 PM
I got this Spongebob address book at WalMart, intending to use it as my craftster address book. I've been doing a lot of swapping, and it was sometimes not practical to have to turn on the computer just for an address. I needed to write them all down in the same place. I decided I wanted to redecorate it. Cheesy  Sorry Spongebob fans! But it's definitely more to my liking now.

Now:

It looks a little messy to me in this after pic, but the pic may just be a bit blurry. I glued patterned scrapbook paper on, then stamped and 'distressed' the edges with a brown stamp pad. I stamped on 'addresses' which is a bit crooked but I don't care, and added stickers.

BEFORE:

Voila! Let me know what you think. Comments rock! Wink

ETA: Replacing pics.
