I said explicitly that I had spoken to him, and that he nor his family found it at all offensive. they thought it was funny. Plus, not all jewish people are like you, I'm sorry. He liked the idea and thought it was funny. I got Hannukah presents from him, and he got Christmas presents from me. no big deal, that's just what we did.
His family must be on the relaxed side of reform or reconstruction. Those of us who really practice Judaism would totally not be cool with a stocking for the record...um. thanks for saying that he doesn't "really practice Judaism" sorry, but that was just rude. who are you to say that reformed or relaxed jewish people aren't jews. That's like saying all jews who don't practice exactly what the Torah says aren't actually jews.
