41  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: Come one come all post your new tattoo IDEAS! on: January 18, 2008 06:15:29 PM
i've always wanted a foot tattoo, but i don't like the idea of a bee on my foot.  i kinda want him to look like he landed somewhere.  i like the arm placement.  i can't decide if i like above or below better, either!  but please post pictures when you get him!

P.S box color makes your hair fall out, go to sallys and get some developer and color to mix together. Not Ferria!!!

is feria really that bad?  it's the only red that stays bright for more than a couple of days for me.

Radioactivecrafter- i love the bee idea.  that's what i want my first tattoo to be, too.  i've always been on the lookout to find a good reference picture since bees usually look so terrifying.  haha.

where are you going to place him?

wow.  this is SO perfect.

i'm starting it right this second!

i think i'll wait a little while and try it on a bunch of times before taking it apart.  i had my mom try it on, too.  but she has a tiny head so it wasn't too much help.

i went out and bought some thinner yarn, that seems more drapey.  i'm going to try and do it again and try and wing it.  it only took me a night to do the other one.

i really want to crochet a slouchy hat.  i really love the looks of these:

and the keri russel sundance hat.  especially lulu clyde's version here:

but these are both knit.  i've searched the internet tirelessly and can't seem to find anything similar.  i've already crocheted the pretty puff slouch hat, but i wasn't satisfied with it.

if anyone had any advice on how to achieve something similar, i'd love you forever.

so i made it last night.  unfortunately, i don't think it came out right.  it's shaped funny.  it doesn't drape nicely like yours.  it sticks out, like.  almost a pillbox?  ugh.  anyway.  maybe it's the type of yarn.  i used simply soft.  or maybe my head it just too big.    Huh

i wish i could knit.  this hat is so adorable.
alas, only crochet.

i second this.

i can't knit to save my life.  my one friend's mom knits and she's tried teaching me, but we both ended up laughing so hard because my tension ends up so tight that the plastic needles were squeaking against each other.

i can at least try to crochet.  haha.

your hat looks so great.  i want to try this so badly, but i'm a novice crochet-er (haha?) in the middle of a blanket that's not even turning out right.  i might take it apart and make this.  i'm just nervous about pattern reading.

do you think a beginner could do it?
