I think that would be a lovely idea for a challenge!!  Making clothing in classic shapes but with unexpected fabrics is my thing right now.

btw, did you use a bias tape maker?  if you don't have one you should get one ... they make perfect binding so quickly ...

No, I wish I would have.  I have used one in the past, but don't currently have one.  One of those things that doesn't cost much and I know would save me so much time...but I always put off buying.

Thanks for all the lovely compliments.  I had originally wanted to make a extra-long hooodie to wear as a dress.  I love Norma Kamali...and have been coveting her stuff for some time. But when I saw how big of a trend it was becoming,  (almost every store has one now)  I had to come up with something else.

I guess what I should have said was that I like the material. I too find sweatshirts very unflattering.  It's just something about the color... Perfect blend of black and white.  I have a thing for grey t-shirts as well. I have a few GAP favorite tees  (that are at least 5 yrs old)that I wear at least once a week

Love it!  I too am really into cropped jackets right now.  It looks so cute on you...great job.

Hey Everybody...

Its been awhile since I posted, so I couldnt wait to share this.  

I have always absoultely loved heather grey fleece sweatshirts . Don't know why... but I have    I almost died when I found some sweatshirt material for dirt cheap at a local store here in Portland called S.C.R.A.P.  I am currently also obsessed with wrap dresses...so i thought wouldn't  it be funky to combine the two?

And the Sweatshirt Wrap Dress was born    I didn't use a pattern and it was fairly easy to make ...except for the binding which took entirely too long.  But all in all,   I am very pleased with the results.   Can't wait to wear it with a long sleeve tee, tights and a pair of boots.

So whatcha think?

P.S.  Don't pay any attention to the way I look in the pictures...it was taken really late at nite.
