1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: Rings and Grommet HELP! on: February 07, 2011 06:09:42 AM

These might work. I was looking for something that didn't open like this but maybe this is what I need to get. Thanks for the research "ntaga". I did look for "rings" but when you search "rings" you pull up 80 gazillion different items.
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Rings and Grommet HELP! on: January 25, 2011 08:33:51 AM
Hello all!
I have been wanting to make a bag that has the the ring through the grommet(see attached photo). Can anyone tell me where I can find those rings? I have some rings at home but they are very hard to open up.

Thanks all.
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Which type of Glue, Suggestions please :) on: February 05, 2010 07:49:34 AM
Sorry to piggy back on this post, but I have been reading lots about different types of glue for rhinestones. I wondered what you all used to attach small/medium sized rhinestones to fabric (cotton twill). I have to apply a whole lot (over 250) so I was wonder what worked best and also would take me 5 years to do.

thanks all!!

I reckon for easiness sake, get a t-shirt that fits you well and go from that.

Use it as a pattern but remember to add seam allowances + extra to make it baggy.

After you've sewn it together, try it on + mark where it would sit off your shoulders + cut. Add the two little pink straps there over one shoulder to keep it up ((at an angle it looks like)). Cut up the middle of the sleeves to about 2cm from the neckline to about 2cm from the wrist.

Then I guess just embellish a little.

Hope that helps somewhat!

Thanks Sin Doll. I actually have a long sleeve tee that I love @ home. I will sketch out the pattern and do some adjusting.. I hope to get to Joann's or Michael's and get some reallly huge beads and make some necklaces and chunky bracelets... maybe some sort of belt???

I am hoping this will turn out really good.. Maybe I'll even where it out to the clubs...well maybe not, but it's always nice to have something super cute just in case...
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Need Help with 80's outfit on: April 29, 2009 08:20:31 AM
My daughter is having a 80's dance @ school on May 8th. It's for the whole family. I found her a really cute tube dress to where, but I can't wear the same thing. I am sort of body conscious so a tight dress is not my thing. I have found a drawing of this outfit and was wondering if anyone can help me put this together...

Nikki Mama,
I love your links. I sell bags too and sometimes find it hard to display them all without it looking "cluttered". I wanted to ask, where did you find that wire display that you have your bags hanging from? I wanted to do somethng like that, but didn't know where to get one and HATE going into Home Depot to try to "construct" one myself.  I have my second ever "real" show tomorrow, I will try to remember to take pictures of my set up.

If you need a quick setup for bags, try hanging your oven racks from your setup tent.  If you want them longer, tie them together with tie wraps.  That way you can cut them apart when you want to put them back in your oven.

That's a good idea, but this show is inside. No tent this time around. I was looking for something quick and easy to either make or buy that isn't heavy but can hold some of my totes... I think I will have to take my dress form with and hang my totes over that...do you think that will look alright?
