1  Health Pack here! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by discocraze on: October 09, 2011 04:20:33 PM
I made this back in June for my ex-boyfriend's birthday. The pictures were taken on webcam for tumblr (harharhar) so sorry there are not an real quality ones.

(The picture also mirrors it... I swear, the font is actually written properly)

It fits up to 5 dvds/video games, or 4 and a controller... also, the zippers on the front is an actual pocket, but the strap can also be tucked in the middle of an xbox controller and the controller can be carried that way.

I'm pretty proud of it. I want one myself  Smiley

2  Little Red Riding Hood in Halloween Costumes by discocraze on: October 26, 2010 07:39:39 PM
So, before I show the pictures, I posted three years ago a Little Red Riding Hood costume that I made for halloween my senior year of highschool: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=203110.msg2164726#msg2164726. It's been a LONG time since I've posted, and while at college, I don't have a huge time to devote to sewing, I managed to finish this costume so my boyfriend and I could be Lil' Red and the Big Bad Wolf:]

It's really the only good photo of the costume I could get, but hopefully this weekend I'll get some better ones. The hood was a pattern I made myself, and I actually attached it to the bodice. The bodice was made from Simplicity 3677 and the skirt is GREATLY shortened, but drafted from McCall's 4090. The apron was a child's apron I used as a child,  and the tank top, pantyhose, etc, are all else store bought (meaning: previously owned).

I want to get more detail shots later, of the bodice fabric (it's so cute! it's little birds!)

3  brown patterned corset, topped with lace and handmade detail in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by discocraze on: July 09, 2008 08:55:46 AM
Hello everyone!
It's been a looooonnngg time since I've posted. Senior year in general, on top of the lead and the costume mistress in the spring musical, ontop of finals and graduation rehearsals, prom, and then the ACTUAL graduation AND a new job...

whew. It's nice to finally have some time to sew and get back in the nitch :]

So, this corset is drafted from Simplicity 7215, but I'm a sewer who takes the pattern pieces, cuts them, then goes whatever she wants. So, that's what this was. I followed up until it came to really stitching everything together and setting in the boning. Oh, did I mention I didn't use actualy BONING, but packaging strips? AND the material was 2 a yard at Walmart and the inside were fragments from Jo-Anns that I got even cheaper cuz I used to work there?

Did I mention that the outside fabric was stretchy cotton? That was really bothersome because the more I worked with it, the more it stretched, uhhhhgggg.

Anyway, this is a trial run for a corset I'm planning on making for halloween - I'm going as Poison Ivy, and when you're making your own costume and going to college as a freshman - gotta plan ahead!

Most of the corset was done by hand - you can see all my Xs and random thread lines, but I kinda like the affect.

Sorry the pictures are wierd, I had to lace and get the corset on all by myself. As well as take the pictures...  Undecided

Bust detail: the hips were similiar - I used the really pretty border of the fabric to accent:

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE - GIVE ME ANY COMMENTS/FEEDBACK/SUGGESTIONS/CRITIQUES!
I'd really appreciate it ;]

4  handsewn coin purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by discocraze on: April 26, 2008 10:52:42 PM
Well, firstly - this entire bag was hand sewn. All the sequins, emrboidery, stitches, heming, zipper... so on and lame forth.

Secondly - was inspired by http://www.freepeople.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/products.detail/productID/46d8d4a3-ee3b-4c01-a82e-f47bb8bc2a9e/categoryID/6f416d27-7521-4d57-9b23-29c869b8ac1b from freepeople.com . I saw this and thought it was cute, but totally thought, "Hey, I could probably make one, and make it cuter".

Well, as the night turned into morning, my sewing got worse and worse, haha. I usually don't handsew.. I think the last time I ever really handsewed outside buttons and putting trim on was when I was seven and attempting to make doll clothes. Also, this is pretty much a rough draft for what I might do if I decide to make some more... it was made from scrap bits, so yeah...

I think I'd go machine next time, then add finer details later, lol.

Anyway, here it is, horribly colored due to light and camera and sleepyness of me::

5  spring outfit + mock dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by discocraze on: February 17, 2008 02:36:20 PM
Sooo.... I made a corset that I never finish, with a lack of boning - I cut up a 2 liter of pepsi - and it being, oooh, 2 in the morning, i figured hammering would not be appreciated by my parents, i made this corset [and skirt... technically, which isn't done] :

the next is a mock of a dress i have plans to make, just thinking of the fabric i want]. however, i drafted the pattern myself and overshot it - the bust is about 4-5 inches TOO big, so, I'm going to finish this dress, put in the zipper, etc, and give it to my friend who is...errrm, more curvacious than i am:

6  A little black dress that came to no use... in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by discocraze on: February 17, 2008 01:58:43 PM
So, at my highschool, every year, my chorus does a Broadway Desserts night, where we audition to sing any broadway song we want and the audience gets to eat as much cake they want and get fat :]

This dress was made within [i think] 1 - 2 hours one night when I began to freak out over what I would wear when a bunch of senior girls and I were planning on doing All That Jazz.... well, the girls thought it was TOO conservative, but that's okay - cuz we didn't get it anyway.

Well, onto the pics... and [as i see A LOT] excuse the crappy face, I had college auditions for theatre this past week and got NO sleep... I slept most of the day today before I took these :]

closeup of strap ties - they actually TIE, they're not very long though..

back.... awkward angle:

and, the best of a full frontal i could get... god, i look stupid, OUCH:

***POST SCRIPT: I want to show off my new sunglasses that I got a Urban, that I found on FREDFLARE for cheaper... but then I thought "eeeew, postage shipping" anyway, here they are. I LOVE purple:

7  the 5-minute party dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by discocraze on: October 27, 2007 08:05:09 PM
I LOVE IT.  Grin

Once again, the pictures suck [RAWR] but i LOVE it! It was SO simple, so EASY, took 5 minutes to make, and fits my body in an amazing glove. I can't wait to wear it out [in New York, being it's more of a party dress].

8  Ride, Red, Ride... [with a hood] in Halloween Costumes by discocraze on: October 20, 2007 08:27:00 PM
I finished it just now! :]

excuse the crappy photos..

This is as full of a body shot i could get just by myself.

And the legs/rest of the body:

The typical myspace shot:

The corset was adapted from the pattern I used for my Ren Fest costume and well... I didn't have enough boning so I used milk carton plastic for the back, which the corset is also decorated with ribbon [there's fake lacing in the back, which I have a pictuer and I might upload later].

So, I'm planning on wearing it to a party and on Halloween with a bunch of friends and perhaps going Trick-or-Treating cuz... ya know, after highschool, it's just parties.

9  REAL Ren Fest costume :] in Costumes: Completed Projects by discocraze on: September 01, 2007 10:40:08 PM
So, here's what... well, mostly me, but for those who seemed enthusiastic to see - what we've been wiating for!

Sorry for the big pictures D:

For the bodice part, you might notice that there's a bit of a different color - white? Yeah, I overlayed a white ribbon that had the little eyelets? Errrr, the typical girly ribbon over a VIBRANT purple - what I used to lace the bloody thing up. I stitched those two together over the seams in the bodice, I like the effect alot.

Close up of bodice/lacing + model pose :]

I'm so excited, I still have a few extra little things to do. I made a gold pouch that's lined in red satin and I need to get some nice cord for it, no ribbon there! Hahaha.

Comments && questions && advice is DEFINETELY welcome!  Grin

THE REAL ONE:

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=193705.0

Sooo, I'm planning on going to Ren Fest in Maryland [woo!] this fall and I  bought a pattern, since duh - I was going to dress up! I actually bought a PIRATE pattern instead of a wench, and yeah - the only thing made by me is the actual corset overcoat. But I'm darn proud of it!

I used fabric that I didn't care about that I got a lot of for free, and yeah - I didn't have enough money at the time to buy boning. But alas! I'm goig to JoAnn's tomorrow [hopefully]  and will be buying pretty, vibrant fabric and boning to make another one that I'll actually wear!

EYELETS ARE EVIL - not really, but the first four tries were! D:

Oh, and sorry the pictures are kinda... bad.  Undecided I had no one to take any. I'll try to update with better ones soon.
