1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Some High Waist Skirts :) on: July 04, 2010 01:37:27 PM
I made these two skirts from things I had lying around, and wish I had made them earlier!

I have an affinity for high waist skirts, bows, and hearts!

Comments and criticism welcome!

Oh, this is ADORABLE! I love it- the colors, the hem, the tie waist, it all works. :] Great job!

Kudos, all your hard work definitely paid off!

Now was the pattern vintage? Is that why it was so tricky to figure out?

Anyways, that romper is simply adorable.  Smiley

Love the dress. Did you attach the material a "premade" tank top..or did you make the tank top too?
I gotta make that one of these days!

Thank you so much everybody! I actually made the tank top section from scratch. Smiley It's helpful to have a good template, like a well-fitted tank top!
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Colorblock Dress and Recon Skirt! on: June 26, 2010 11:54:33 AM
I love weekends, that's when I got most of my work done.  Cheesy

So I made this dress from remnants I had in my collection, and I think it's a great way to use my scraps that I didn't know what to do with.

And this skirt, I actually made from leftovers of a dress I altered!

I definitely got some good ideas on how to sustain and recycle! Hope you guys try some new and innovative ideas Smiley

Comments and criticism welcome!

wow they're both beautiful!  i really love the second one, it's super flattering and the fabric is gorgeous.  where's it from?

Thank you so much everybody! I actually got this fabric from Walmart, believe it or not! They actually have some good quality stuff if you dig around. :] And it's a polyester knit, it feels very slinky.

And maggiedoll, thank you very much for your etsy critiques, I feel like I need some feedback every once in a while to see how I'm doing!  Smiley

Amazing job! I have half a mind to grab that pattern now. :]
I'm worried I'll freak out with the zipper instructions- the only thing holding me back from doing pants..
But anyway, those shorts look great!  Smiley

These were both quite simple to make, and I really love the patterns from the fabric!
The first  one actually took me a little bit to figure out because of the waist shirring, but it worked out perfectly:

I actually made this one not too long ago, but I've been too lazy to take pictures. Shame, really.

I do love these dresses, but I have to let go of these babies. Besides, if I ever want some for myself I can just whip em up whenever. :]

Comments and Criticism very welcome!

Thank you guys!
And to answer a few questions, I did not use a pattern for this one, I actually dislike patterns and kind of go by the seat of my pants  Cheesy. I guess it's an organic process? hehe.
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Ethnic Print Summer Dress! Wootwoot! on: May 28, 2010 03:53:05 PM
I've been hankering for a summer dress lately..
And of course, I have no money whatsoever at the moment, as is so common in my life these days..

So I just grabbed some fabric that I've been saving from Joann and whipped up this dress:

I enjoy high saturation pics, I apologize.

Oh, and comments & criticism welcome. :]
