Naww that is sooo cute.
I may have to do something like that to simply personalise my rather old looking car, and embarrass my parents when they get in to be my driving supervisor.. hehe.. being a learner in Aus can be fun..

Thank-you Kaitlinnegan. I am going to see if I can locate that pattern, but so far I haven't been able to find any in Aus. But the name, twist bodice, has helped heaps! I must have been having a real slow moment not to pick that out..

Soorawn and 19libra86, thank-you. I will be sure to post it when I get it finished.

Thank-you again!

Hey everyone,

I was doodling the other day and came up with this: http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee147/miss_limp-a-lot/Craftster%20pics/DRESS.jpg

I really want to make something as similar as possible. My only problem is, I have no idea how to acheive a bodice like that. Can anyone give me a name, some helpful pointers or maybe a link to somewhere that could help?

Also, I am looking to enter it into a local competition along with some of my wearable art. I plan to make it from satin and chiffon, do you think it would be more daywear or evening/formal wear?

Any help or opinions at all are greatly appreciated!

Court.

Wow! Well, you certainly won't risk losing those anywhere; they're so bright! I love them though, they look fantastic.
Did you plan what you were going to paint or just make it up as you went along?

Thank-you. Cheesy
Hmm, not really, I drew some of the stars and flowers on first but in the end I got lazy and winged it.

I love 'em !

so bright, colorful, positive.. and of course, unique Smiley

Thank-you. Smiley I forgot to mention in my main post, but the black outlines are just from sharpies, I couldn't get black paint much to my dismay.

Skip the blurb if you want.

I went and got my new Volleys for school from BigW. Usually I get my friends to write all over them. I decided that was getting a bit boring and now that all the Juniors at school have written on their shoes it is no longer unique. It is my last year of high school. I needed unique. I needed something that was me. Walking through work, I found metallic and sparkle fabric paint and voila! The new fangdangle not so plain and boring volleys were born. I really am very proud of them, I am also quite surprised how well they turned out.

Sorry about the long blurb, here are the pics:

Outside of right shoe.

Rather iffy picture of the insides.

Artsy fartsy photo 'cos I can.

If anyone is interested in more pictures take a look herehere: http://s233.photobucket.com/albums/ee147/miss_limp-a-lot/Craftster%20pics/ (Sorry about the messy link, I am not too sure how to do the hyperlink thing)

Any comments, good or bad, are appreciated.

I hope you like them,

Thank-you everybody. Smiley

hahhahaa those are awesome! i love that huge newspaper hat!! what do you do with that afterwards?
So the dress has self-destructed thanks to the storm we have last night that flooded the back patio and the hat is decorating the table out side.. I am not sure what I am going to do with it.. I want to keep it for the Fashion Bash next year in April though..
