Arghhh I was at the library the other day perusing baby knit books, and there was the PERFECT baby sweater for this, and go figure, i can NOT remember the name of the book, all I know is the sweater was white short sleeve with an intarsia green frog on the front, and I entertained the thought of doing it in pink and green for a girl, but decided it would probably not be appriciated by the recipient... WHY can I not remember the name of that book?? Give me a few and I will look and see if I can find it......
Ach... must not go to flicker..... I am SUCH a bad girl....my craft room is again bordering on disaster. I am thinking that is just how I work. I have now even overflowed into the bedroom....which I spent all weekend reorganizing to have room for the craft room overflow. Before to long I will spend more time organizing than crafting... I seriously need a craft therapist. That or I need to get over crafting ADD. Perhaps there is such a thing as too many crafts...<<< See I do need help, I am delusional. Hmph. Off to flicker :-)
Awesome job!!!! I have been wanting to do a portrait for a while, but keep finding other stuff to do somehow..... Seriously this turned out great though... I love that you combined techniques and used the crayon for the eyes and cheeks....... Really nice, very ambitious and it truly catches the character of the subject.... Good job.
I am telling you guys, this is the best beginners pattern ever.... you knit and purl, but you don't increase OR decrease.... you do get to use cute stitch markes, and you don't have to knit till you think it sucks to get a scarf... and in the end you have something totally cute!!! PLUS we get to look at all the cool things you can do with this one pattern, like do cables, change up the ribbing, used cool hand dyed yarn and it gives us something to look forward to.... This is one of my favorite threads just because it is so awesome to see how personal something this simple can be....kind of simply inspiring :-)
