1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Who are you on Ravelry? on: October 19, 2007 01:33:25 PM
Is anyone else unable to load Ravelry?

Yup, I can't load it either....... ACK.
2  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Re: Ask Jenny - Everything You've Wanted to Know (But Were Afraid to Ask) on: September 28, 2007 07:39:18 AM
OK, I know you sell cool ways of tracing your designs onto black fabric, BUT have you by any chance done any research on making a direct stamp method for dark fabrics??? I think embroidery on dark fabrics pops like nothing else, and I have designed my own way of getting the designs onto dark fabrics, but you can bet if there were a simple method where I could just iron it on I would be thrilled.  I have a bit of experience in the printing industry, and I know that the iron on transfers really can't work that way, but wonder if something else would, maybe a steam set of some type....Anyway I guess what I am asking is do we have any hope? Is it a topic on the mind of the guru of patterns??? I always feel a bit mean when I trace a pattern instead of using it.... After all, the more I buy the more you design right??
3  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Tea Towel Tour 2 (Signups Until 4 PM MT, Friday, September 7) on: September 07, 2007 06:25:37 AM
I am soooo longing to sign up, but I know my workload is too hectic and there is no way I could keep up right now......and there is just no way I would let anyone down with something as cool as this.....I will totally be watching this though, and hoping for a next round :-)

4  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: Long Open Shawl Crochet-a-long. on: August 02, 2007 11:59:59 AM
Yeah, slow down you are making me look bad!!  Grin

Really though, just this morning I was having conversations with a skein of simply soft in violet, and it said it really wanted to be one of these... and I envisioned it then told it not to hold its breath.  At my speed it would be antique violet by the time I finished.  So maybe you could make some of his siblings happy......

I am using simply soft.... It is actually a deep red color, but I guess it does look pretty pink in the photo.... oddly enough, the photo doesn't seem too far off from the color, for the FO photo shoot I will have to do outdoors to see if I get better color capture....

Slowly getting there, problem is this is for me, so it keeps getting shoved to the back burner, but I love this stitch pattern :-)

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Questions for all you knitters out there! on: June 26, 2007 07:30:16 AM
Try knittys calorimetry! That was my first real FO.... easy stitches, just do what it says and it all works out and you begin to get it.  I find with knitting, doing what they tell you is half the battle, then you start to understand how it all works and fits together.

Love this bag... made one last night!!!!  Elvis on the outside black stonewash on the inside! I love this because it feels SO sturdy, looks good and give me a place to use all the novelty fabrics I have accumulated over the years.
I used almost 1 yard of each , you could probably get by with 7/8 of a yard......
