so i haven't actually done this, but as i was driving home from work today i had a brilliant idea.  what about embroidering something on the seat belts in your vehicle?  i was thinking of doing something like "lady driver"

what do you think?
1037  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: Researching an old Singer on: July 09, 2006 06:25:13 PM
OMG!  You totally made my day.  Thank you so much for putting that effort into your responce!

Now I'm just vibrating waiting for this machine.  I have no idea how to sew yet, but I will someday soon.

Thank you, thank you, thank you with cherries on top.
1038  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Recovering old TV tables - Need a little advice on: July 09, 2006 06:15:58 PM
That's awesome!  I love to hear that people like my ideas.

I work at Value Village (not a great job, but fabulous discount and shopping) and it's right beside a Michael's.  I'll pop in on lunch tomorrow and ask about a sealant.

I apologize if this message has been posted twice.  I have been told that it has, but I can't find the post anywhere.  Sometimes I can't see things, sometimes the internet is wrong.

Okay, so I'm re-doing two old TV trays that I found at a yard sale.  I was thinking that I'd modge podge some kitchy food graphics on them, or maybe something like vintage TV stuff.  Does anyone have any other ideas?

Second, I think the modge podge glue may become tacky once it has been wetted.  Is there anything I can do to seal it so that this doesn't happen?  Or is there another method I can use?

Thanks to anyone who can help!  I'll post pics once I've completed the project.

1040  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Researching an old Singer on: July 09, 2006 03:26:49 PM
Does anyone have any information on this old Singer?  I havent' seen the machine up close, but I've been told that the name plate says the following:
Singer Manufacturing Company
Model # Y3839758

I'm searing for site with information or someone who knows something about this thing.  My aunt is having it fixed up for me as a gift (for which I'm truly pumped).  I just wanted to do some research and such.

Thank ya!
