1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Retro crafting on: February 10, 2010 04:54:55 PM
What do you make when you get some vintage 80's friendly plastic?  add a vintage 70's or 80's hot tray thingy do some melting then add glaze and you get some opaly looking earrrings and a pendant .  I totally forgot how much fun this old craft was.
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Any interest in a vintage sheet fat quater swap? on: August 18, 2008 08:59:37 AM
Yes I am totally stealing this idea from www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransson/2008/05/vintage-sheet-patchwork-swap.html
but it sounds like it would so cool to do a swap like this.  I think what we could do is to instead of shipping to the organizer, we pick a number of fat quaters we would like to swap and then we mail them directly to a partner or partners. Time frame could be after school starts, and before the holiday season sets in, like Sept to end of Octoberish?  so we can get out and do some thrifting or shopping around to find vintagy sheets or pillow cases.
Maybe we could speicify what we really do not want, like flowers, stripes, or character prints.

I hope others would like to be invovled in this type of swap since I missed sign ups for the other vintage sheet swaps that I could find on the net!
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / No dogs where harmed in the making of this..... on: May 22, 2008 07:31:41 PM
Ok, my youngest son had to make up an invention for his science fair project. Well we came up with this design. Doggie Duster Busters!  They are helpful around the house, and good for the environment.  Only if you can get your dog to wear and then walk around in them.  Of course Mom had to design and then crochet them up.  Poor Athena was not very happy with having to wear them.  2 skeins of cotton yarn, a dog, a kid with an idea hopefully an A in science!

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Wishing well TP Cozy on: April 03, 2008 09:16:04 PM
I was surfing the net the other day and saw a TP cozy that was in the shape of a wishing well and I think it was for barbie dolls?  Now I can't find the site.  Anyone know what site I was looking at?

I was wondering if anyone has made anything like this?  I plan on giving it a try this week just to see what it turns out like.
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Any one se the new anthropologie website? on: November 17, 2007 07:53:01 AM
I just ran upon the holiday section of the anthropolgie site. Man it has some cute but expensive ornaments.  http://tinyurl.com/3dgk32
I think we could all make up a penguin pattern, and the skater girls look like they are needle felted with knitted sweaters.  I really think the ornaments are super cute, but too expensive for me!
8  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Freebie Wedding Cake crochet pattern on: September 14, 2007 09:02:17 AM
I havne't made this cake yet, but plan on doing so for a co-workers wedding gift, in her wedding colors.  I just thought I would pass this on for others that are looking for wedding cake patterns to crochet

9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Japanese scrubbie swap on: September 03, 2007 07:54:53 PM
I am thinking about doing a swap where we crochet one or several of the cute scrubbies and send them to our partners.  I am addicted to making them up.  They are made out of cotton yarn or any type of yarn, and take a short time to make them up.  Here are several of the cute books that have them in them.

Would anyone be interested in this type of swap?  I'm thinking around Halloweenish for sign ups and then send outs before thanksgiving.
10  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Big Feet Jo-Ellen tested on: August 26, 2007 02:13:33 PM
I test crocheted this pattern for a lovely lady on crochetville.  I worked on the doll for about 2.5 hours. She is a little bit under 8 inches.  Very easy and very cute pattern.
