11  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: Japanese 3D Paper Dolls (Washi Ningyo) with Tutorial on: May 23, 2008 11:28:24 AM
Oh, these are so lovely!  My grandma and her friends used to make dolls like this for me when I was a little girl.  My favorite was a boy and girl doll kneeling next to each other on a wooden plank.

I think it is so much cooler that you figured out a pattern for yourself.  It makes them look very unique...I've never seen those types of dolls with pigtails, for instance!  And the pigtail one is definitely my favorite.  Bravo!

WOW your work is amazing!  I can't wait to see what sorts of new items end up in your Etsy shop.  They must disappear as fast as you can make them!

WOW!!  You are amazing.  What a lucky friend you have!
14  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: My first thread with some examples of my work :) LOTS OF PICS! :D on: February 29, 2008 10:16:00 AM
These are AMAZING!  I love the Jaffa cake ring especially.  I had Jaffa Cake withdrawals after leaving England!

I just can't believe how real these all look.  Even the bite marks look like real bite marks.  Very impressive work!
15  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: ** Customised Trucker Cap and a Cap Made From Paper ** on: February 22, 2008 09:44:03 AM
I think these are AWESOME, and I'm not even a cap-wearing kinda gal.  What was your inspiration for this?  It's such an unusual idea...nice to see something different on the boards!
16  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Re: Irish Dress - Medieval Fantasy Outfit & Tutorial on: February 22, 2008 09:32:05 AM
This is so pretty!  The cut and the color seem to work together perfectly.  Also, I think you are strikingly lovely.

The skirt is absolutely beautiful!  And halter top = good choice.  Corsets are fabulous for about...two hours of dancing.  Six hours later?  Not so much.

I love these, especially the white one!  Very pretty.  I would never think of making it monochromatic, but it's very striking that way.  My grandma's friends make smaller versions of these in multicolors...I hang them on my Xmas tree, and my brother has one hanging from the rearview mirror of his car.  (I kind of bet he's the only construction worker with dainty Japanese papercrafts decorating the interior of his car...)  Cheesy

Wow wow wow, I love it!  No wonder your grandma fell in love with him!!

Oh!!  I had the same problem as you with that New Look pattern (weird strap instructions, and then the whole dress turning out several sizes too large).  But in spite of it all, yours came out beautifully!  I love the fabric you chose, and the buttons.
