And bushbaby. I will still come visit you when you are in the dungeon. A sweater in two weeks would have taken me two years! For detention, I say you have to show us both of your yarny projects  Grin and the yarn (rug) burn marks on your needles. Art is supposed to be fun!  Roll Eyes

If its any consolation to you all both my shawls are of the 'interesting' type of knitting (as in "Define Interesting?", "Oh God, oh god we're all going to die"  Grin )

Never to be the one to take the easy path the 1st shawl is a short row, two-colour knit which I have decided to work up adding a sparkle thread to one of the colours:

And the second shawl is supposed to be knitted all one colour, but I decided that I wanted to work on learing cable knitting so I am doing the cable section in...um... 3 colour intarsia cable knitting  Roll Eyes

this is it so far:

Ok, so to offset my moment of yarn buying weakness a few weekends ago (and having nothing to do with developing sense of yarn snobbery  Roll Eyes) I have decided to get rid of all the cheap acrylic yarns from my stash. These were mostly bought in Poundstores (dollar stores to the US-speaking).

I have a knitting friend who has offered to buy them from me as she knits lots of baby & todler clothes for her church.

In the process I have also sorted, re-organized and catalogued on Ravelry my whole stash. So I know know where everything is and even found a few yarns I had forgotten!

(left to right, bag - current project yarns, 1st big box - all 4ply yarns, small box - hand spun/hand painted 'special' yarns, 2nd Big box - DK yarns or heavier weights.

Umm..does anyone know where April went?? I seem to have misplaced it!

I have been crafting lots acutally just not been online for a while, so I am just going to do a mini photo dump of everything I have made:

My Best friend & his wife are going to have their 1st baby in October so I have made some Baby bits:

I was commissioned by a friend to crochet 4 Jar cozies like so :

I have been beading I have made this necklace in two colourways.

And also adapted the pattern to make this shawl pin

And I have finished the Cusion cover kntting kit bought in Orkney last year.

And for the 1st time ever in our nearly ten year marriage I have completed our Anniversary Ornament before november!   This was as a result of a day class in boutis quilting

That brings me to 55 completed craftings so far this year !  Grin

SheepBlue I saw that cowl when it was posted and thought it was very beautiful. I love the soft colours Smiley

I have 'received' from my 'partner' in the Fake Swap craftalong  Wink - this is from the "Be Awesome (redux)" swap.

I am super please with my Dreambird shawl:

I also had a go at a new bread recipe - a "no knead bread" I have not tried before. Quite happy with the way it turned out - needs a little more water, a bit more mixing next time (few flour-y bits in the middle) and more warmth when proving but still quite tasty if a bit dense:

It arrived! It arrived! My 'partner' in the "Be AWESOME (Redux)" swap has truly out done herself (IMHO) Smiley

behold my Dreambird shawl:

I am super please with this - especially as it was finished a week ahead of the due date  Grin

AIMR those mushrooms are fab! I must 'borrow' that idea sometime Smiley  And I love the cabled bootrcuffs too.

Although I am ashamed to admit I dont know what you really do with boot cuffs? I've heard of & seen them before but was never very sure what they are for.

I managed a little crafting this weekend. Over on Ravlery I am taking part in a swap and as my partner is in NY state I decided to include a little Scottish extra. I bought a jute shopper bag and needle felted a little thistle on it

Just for size, this is the bag with the cone of wool I am swapping (also a Scottish wool for my partner)

(apologies if pics are on their sides, I will maybe fix later.)

Another small dent in the yarn stash-  this time it is the 160g or 100% silk Handspun that a friend spun up for me a couple of years ago.

Shame I just got 'paid' in 2 hanks of yarn for making some beads for a friend - on the upside I am already knittng the 2 hanks in to a project together  Grin

So I have 'recieved' from my partner in the 'Fake Swap Craftalong'- I now have 2 shawl pins from the fake Pinterest swap:

I have also finished another shawl for myself. this is a handspun 100% silk that a freind of mine spun up for me a couple years ago:

so thats 3 more finishes for me Smiley and I have no idea why everything has been purple recently...other than it is my favorite colour and perhaps it is just making me feel happier when I need it right now.

I can't decide if this is an improvement but my mum was going to throw out a small shelving unit so I decided to try it on my desk, still not sure about it though.
