1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / transfer on a viscose t-shirt? on: March 27, 2008 10:08:48 PM
Hi all,

I've done several transfers (successfully) on cotton t-shirts, and now I've bought a Calvin Klein (ie. not cheap) t-shirt that would look a gazillion time better with a transfer on it. Thing is it's a viscose knit, not cotton as I originally thought. Has anyone ironed on viscose rayon? Should I risk it? What's the worse that could happen?  Undecided

Beautiful! I love the colours you chose.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Vogue Knitting Holiday cover scarf on: January 02, 2007 12:44:42 PM
It's GORGEOUS. I've been tempted by this scarf but it seems like it might be awfully heavy. How do you find it? Is it light in that yarn?

FYI - I was able to download the pattern using the Wayback Machine:

http://www.archive.org/index.php

Just use the exact web address for a search. Hope that helps!

Those are so cute! You've inspired me to pull out my copy of the book and make my own, to attach to cards and gifts. Thanks!! Smiley
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Desperately seeking a pattern! on: October 31, 2006 11:34:56 PM
Wow! Well, for those of you who are curious, I actually found the pattern on ebay - it's from Winter 1992-93, and it's pictured in this ebay listing - it turns out it's a DKNY pattern , which I'd forgotten. (In the listing it's pictured right after #19.) Can't believe it - mystery finally solved!  Cheesy

I know what you mean! I've moved these darn things to several new apartments and have often been tempted to toss them. I think I'll probably just end up buying the issues I'm missing on ebay so I can have that pattern! Thanks for checking, though - that's why Craftster people are the greatest!  Smiley

That might well be the one I'm thinking of, Carlene!

EDIT: I checked my issues, and I do indeed have that one. That's not the pattern I was thinking of. The one I have in mind is chunkier and more oversized than that, and more off-white as opposed to pale yellow. Thanks so much for replying though, Carlene - I'm optimistic that I will find this pattern eventually!
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Desperately seeking a pattern! on: October 23, 2006 07:08:00 PM
I've been collecting Vogue Knitting magazines since 1986, and I am looking for a pattern from an issue that I must have misplaced. I'm almost positive the issue it came from was produced sometime between 1986 and 1996, and that it must have been a fall-winter or holiday issue (I know, it's a shot in the dark, right??).

The sweater in the pattern is an off-white, women's high-necked pullover that has wide ribs all over, except for the front and back center panels where there is a wide, multi-stranded cable.

I have searched all over the web and ebay to find the back issue that this pattern came from, to no avail! Please help if you can! Thanks,

Erica

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Interweave Holiday Gifts Magazine on: October 18, 2006 05:37:27 PM
Yes, I was pretty disappointed because most of the patterns are ones I already have in my back issues of Interweave Knits. I guess I should have looked closer before I bought it! Undecided
