1  A quilt for my cousin's wedding! in Quilting: Completed Projects by little0rosa on: August 09, 2008 06:55:41 PM
This weekend was my cousin got married, and I decided to seize the opportunity and make my first quilt. yaaay! I'm not a very precise person, so by no means is everything perfect (i didnt put up a picture of the back for a reason lol). Here are the pics...they are all from my laptop's video cam because i didnt have a camera, so the quality is a little iffy but here we go...

the rows arent actually slanted like they look in this pic, i think that the rug it's sitting on had a lump or something going on.
i think this pic may show the colors better

and here's a close up

It's probably about the size of a lap quilt and it has a medium weight filler. I've never learned how to quilt or anything, I just found the pattern here http://quilting.about.com/od/quiltpatternsprojects/ig/Free-Quilt-Patterns/Black-White-Red-Quilt.htm and decided to give it a go! The pattern was far from perfect, but it gave me the general idea of how to construct the quilt. I hope that my cousin likes it!!!

2  blue plaid messenger bag for little sister in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by little0rosa on: March 09, 2008 12:52:03 PM
So one of my first sewing projects was a messenger bag for my little sister. I used the tutorial from Hellga here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=182863.0 and it was super easy to follow. My sister picked out the fabric, and it wasn't quite heavy enough, so I had to use interfacing on EVERYTHING which took forever, but in total it took me about 6 hours to make.
Here she is with the finished project

Here's a better look at the bag

and heres a pocket with a zipper that I added to the outside

I also put a pencil holder and another pocket on the inside, but for some reason that picture doesnt want to upload. I want to thank Hellga SO MUCH for this awesome tutorial - me and my lil sis love the results!!!

-3 stamped cards and envelopes
-1 tea cup stamped bookmark

4  fat bottom bag in Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller by little0rosa on: January 07, 2007 02:36:10 PM
I made this bag right after I got the book last June, but i've been too lazy to post a pic. I went to A.C. Moore to buy handles but to my total shock they didnt have any so i used these gold ringy things they had....but then those didnt match the color of the bag, so i crocheted over them with white yarn. the handles are a little funky, but thats what i get for being impatient!

my sister (she has an America's next top model complex) who has recently acquired the bag.
