31  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Chubby little penguin guy-pattern too! on: January 20, 2009 09:07:28 AM
Thanks everybody! His eyes are painted felt, I'm not very good at embroidery, and I was out of black felt, so I decided to paint them, was pleasantly surprised at the way it turned out!
I made him a scarf too! Put another picture in the first post.

I love her, she's so different from regular amigurumi, instead of looking all squishy and cute she looks so wise and even a little mystical. She's beautiful!

Edit: not to say that she isn't cute, cause she is, it's just that there's so much more to her than only cuteness, you've managed to give her such a depth of emotion and intelligence!

alohamom2three: you did such a great job, it looks really good with a brim!
34  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Mother 3 / Earthbound 2 amigurumi on: January 19, 2009 01:44:52 PM
I've only ever played the original Earthbound, but I've heard that the sequel was great too, never got around to playing it. Your amigurumi are adorable, and Kumatora's hair is just about the greatest thing ever, It would look great on any female amigurumi. You did an awesome job!

His feet are my favorite part too, cute little toes are always adorable.
I'm glad so many people like the pattern Smiley (and thanks so much for the kind words, it makes it all worth it!) I tried to make a penguin that looked different from the other patterns I'd seen online, hopefully I succeeded! His face/flippers were kinda inspired by Pingu, I've only seen it a few times, but I remember being horrified by the episode where he peed in public when I was younger, lol.
I think I will make him a scarf, even though he's a penguin he looks sorta naked, he needs a name too, any ideas?

I love those, especially the white purse, so cute, and the embellishments look so professional!

Great job, looks great (especially for a beginner!)

By any chance is that a vintage Corel soap dispenser back there? I know that seems like a weird question but it looks like the exact same pattern from the dishes my parents had when I was growing up. I love the green flower design, luckily they gave me the dishes when I got married (sadly no soap dispenser, though I can remember one like it when I was younger)

So elegant and lovely, it would go with anything, from dressy outfits to casual wear, I love it!
39  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Chubby little penguin guy-pattern link too! on: January 18, 2009 11:23:54 PM
It's been a really long time since I've made amigurumi, so I thought something adorable was in order. I wasn't sure what to make but someone suggested I do a penguin through my website. I'd been considering one for a while, due to the winter and all, so I went for it. So here he is, all chubsy-wubsy and cute!

I'm thinking he maybe needs a scarf or something, maybe a little santa hat for next Christmas? Dunno...

Edit: Scarf!

Here's the pattern link, enjoy!

Just a quick heads up:
Updated the pattern so there are now two sizes:
Smaller (which is new) fits heads 18-22"
and Larger (the original) fits heads 21-26"
I know some people have said that my hats turn out large, I have a large head and very thick hair so I tend to design them that way. Hopefully with more size options they'll fit normal-head-sized people better, lol. I need to keep in mind not everyone is shaped like a lollipop when I write patterns  Cheesy
