11  Cupcake tower makeover for baby shower.. in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by woobie on: July 06, 2011 10:16:25 AM
My friend is finally having a long awaited baby girl and everyone in our circle of friends is so excited.. she has chosen bright pink and lime green for her nursery and wanted those colors encorporated into her baby shower.  I volunteered to decorate a cupcake tower for the shower.. I found a Wilton one at Hobby Lobby (couldn't find a plain white one), and it was cute and all, just not right for our girl.  So with the help of wrapping paper, x-acto knife, craft glue, ribbon and hot glue.. I made it over.

In progress pics.. see, it was cute, just not right for us.

Thanks for looking!

I received from thebakersgirl on Saturday.. sorry to be a bit late posting the pic, been a hectic weekend (and Monday).

Check out my very first ever, Doctor Who related dotee.. She made a Tardis!

It's awesome.. it has a little angel charm hanging from the tail.

Thank you so much. I love it!

I received from pollyprissypants on Saturday, but haven't been able to upload a pic until now.. She made Ann Boleyn from The Tudors for me..

She's beautiful.  I tried the macro setting to get a picture of the necklace, but it came out all fuzzy.  It's a tiny "B" -- a wonderful detail.

Thank you, Andrea!

I received from SpookyPooky yesterday..  as usual, when I opened the mailbox and saw the package, I couldn't wait. I ripped into it and found...

direct from the cupboard under the stairs,

Harry Potter!

I love the details.. the wild hair, the taped eyeglasses, the gryffindor scarf.. the snitch!

Thank you Mz SpookyPooky.  I think harry will like his new home.  I plan to hang him next to my molly weasley dotee and I'm sure she will look after him.

17  The Lapin Sisters in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by woobie on: April 05, 2011 08:21:52 AM
I wanted to make something for two special little girls I know and since Easter is approaching, bunnies seemed the logical choice.  2011 is a stash busting year for me.. I'm proud to say that I made these with material that I already had on hand.

The bodies are made from a flour sack tea towel that I had purchased a few years ago.  (They were 2 for $1, and I only needed one for the project then, so the other has been in my fabric basket all this time.

What better to dress a rabbit in than a jumpsuit?.. These are made from quilting scraps.  The lace trim is from a baby quilt I made about four years ago.

I added fluffy little tails, just because I thought they were funny.

I have a huge scrap bag of felt bits from various projects.. so I made carrots.

and mary janes..

They each have a charm (bracelet) necklace with a little butterfly charm that coordinates with their ear bow.

Thanks for looking.

20  Re: 1 Dotee, I ATC and 4 Inchies Gallery Send out Feb. 14, 2011 in The Swap Gallery by woobie on: February 24, 2011 05:45:21 AM
I received from dizzer yesterday.. had so much fun last night admiring all the goodies she sent.

first: everything together.  It was all bundled up in fabric (which is going to be making an appearance in a quilt project I'm working on) and tied with pretty vintage looking lace.

next: the dotees.. meet Molly & Arthur and my cute, flat valentine dotee.

next: an adorable Ravenclaw atc & and Warholesque dalek inchies.. and a bonus bookmark.

She also sent me some button/bead fairies.  They are adorable.  I want to try my hand at making some now.

Diz.. thank you, I know this has been a very busy time in your life and I appreciate all the pretties.
